Besides Jojoba or olive oil, I never thought of having to apply any kinds of oil onto my face. Those who have combination to oily skin will understand my concern over oil-based skin care because we just don’t want our skin to be any more oily. However, about a month ago, I was introduced to use this essence by Estee Lauder and I challenged myself to use it because oil-based skin care products can be beneficial if you found the right one.
‘Like a “vitamin-booster” for skin, this silky blend of nourishing oils helps to revitalize, fortify and protect skin. Packed with the power of pure Pomegranate extract plus nourishing natural lipids and skin-essential Vitamin E, Radiant Vitality Essence Oil’s light texture absorbs instantly and helps to rebuild skin’s natural lipid barrier to help resist irritation and moisture loss. Skin is left feeling re-energized with a radiant, rosy glow and a softer, smoother feel.”
It comes in a plastic droplet bottle which is one of my favorite type of bottle. Coming from Estee Lauder, I thought the bottle looked a little shabby since its plastic. The great thing about using this oil-based essence is, you know how the outer bottle could get oily after a while of using it oil-based skin care but this just stays clean very well.
The oil is clear and transparent and the scent is lovely. I don’t know how a pomegranate smells like before but this smells so refreshing, sweet with floral-like scent. As you can see, once I have massage the oil onto my skin, it doesn’t look too oily at all. Since it is an oil-based skin care, I only use it at night before my moisturiser. Just 4-5 drops enough to massage it onto my entire face. I tried using it during the day but it turned out to be too oily for me but if you have normal to dry skin, you can always use it day and night.
Here is my journey of using it for a month and you can definitely tell the difference. Overall my skin gradually became more healthier and luminous.
- Week 1 – My skin looked yellow with acne scarring on my forehead and dull.
- Week 2 – My skin seems slightly rosier, smoother and plumped.
- Week 3 – The acne scarring on my forehead began to fade
- Week 4 – My skin looks really healthy, radiant and plumped.
Pardon me on the swollen left eye of Week 4 image, as recently the hives decided to pay me a visit and it has to pick to attack me on my face. It wasn’t easy to feel swollen on one side of my face throughout the day.
Here is a close up to my face.
- Week 1 – Visible acne scarring on my cheeks and open pores.
- Week 2 – Plumped, smoother and glowing skin
- Week 3 – Noticeable disappearance of acne scars
- Week 4 – Skin looked radiant and healthy, less yellow undertone.
Here’s to compare before I started using the oil and four weeks later. By all means, the before was taken before I start using the oil which means a week before Week 1.
Also, another close up of before and after. Can you tell that my skin look so much more healthier now?
I was really sceptical about this oil and doubted that it could possibly do anything for my face. As I use it every night, I also enjoy massaging this oil onto my face and massaging promotes blood circulation. I believe what this oil did is that it helped my skin cells to regenerate from inside, plumped them up and became healthier, as a result you can see my skin improved from yellow undertone, acne scarring and radiance. Even for my skin type, I could still benefit from it and what can I say, this is one oil that I can trust to make my skin better! This is also economical because although I have used it for a month, I only used up 1/8 of the entire bottle.
