So what’s the “B” that I was saying? It’s botox, a word that gives a lot of meaning and very well known to the society. The perception of botox changed drastically negative after many botched jobs are shown in pictures every where and not everyone are able to accept the fact that botox can also help other than cosmetic reasons at the right place, doctor, dosage and concentrate. Last week I was at Mediviron UOA Clinic to find out more at their B Party.
Botox is a natural purified protein that relaxes muscles hence smoothens ones’ appearance especially on the wrinkles and this can last up to 4 months. Depending on individuals, the results can be seen as fast as after a few minutes or 2-3 days. In general, botox are commonly known to use on wrinkles but do we all know that it can be use for jawline reduction, excessive sweating (underarms, palm, feet) and teeth grinding? I bet you don’t but it’s alright, we are here to learn!
Ms Hanah (I hope that I get her name spelt right) shared her experience of getting botox a week before. She found her sister’s skin has been improving so well and recommended her to the clinic. She was sceptical at first to get botox but wanted to improve the wrinkles on her under eyes then decided to go for it. “It hurts a little, just like the bite from an ant and after few minutes, it’s all done! You can easily get it done over your lunch break without downtime.” I can hardly tell that she has taken botox, its unnoticeable!
I have searched high and low for this video and this was shared among us during the party. On the earlier part of the video is about Juverderm which is a type of filler that helps to fill and plumps up the skin. It can be use for concerns like wrinkles, depressed scars and nose augmentation. As to the botox topic, it starts at the time frame of 5:00 and you could skip to watch from there if fillers isn’t your interest. By watching this video, you will be able to understand further.
Dr Lashela, no strange doctor if you have read my previous post of Mediviron UOA Clinic related topics. She was there to explain about how botox are used and they could come in different concentrations to be use depending on individual’s severity and doctor’s recommendation.
A demonstration was also shown and the lucky candidate was Mr Ken. Numbing cream was applied before the treatment and it has to be on for half and hour just like how I did for my Fractional CO2 Laser. Once the half hour passed, the numbing cream will be removed to ensure the area is clean.
Dr Lashela suggested to use botox on his frown lines as the lines are becoming quite prominent, therefore she injected on that area without numbing cream. Before she injects the botox, she marked on the areas which needs to be injected. Using the dots as a guide, she then injects the botox. Surprisingly, the needle for the syringe is not as long as I expected. It’s approximately 1cm or lesser. Once injected, doctor massage the area lightly for even distribution of the botox. She also injected on the outer corner of his eyes for his wrinkles. Mr Ken did mention that its not as pain as we could imagine, the pain is bearable.
Aside from explaining about botox, participants are shared about other treatments that Mediviron UOA Clinic provides such as Thread Lift. It is another treatment for face lifting and here you can see Fara (Director of Sales & Marketing) shows the syringes for the treatment.
Also, we have Raymond (Product Specialist) to explain about how Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) or more commonly known as Vampire Facial. If you haven’t know about this treatment, what it does is to improve fine lines, wrinkles, sun damaged skin or scarring with much natural approach. It uses the platelet from your blood to be injected onto your skin which promotes natural and more effective healing and rejuvenation. Of course, the platelet obtained is through a separation process of your blood using a machine.
The party ends with a makeup session by Marcus to even out her complexion for brighter and more luminous look.
Here’s a share of before and after where she look much more radiant and lively after the makeup!
