Food, Boost & Reason To Be There

First night when I was in Singapore, my BF’s uncle treated us at Taglio, located at Central Clarke Quay in Eu Tong Sen Street. We had lots of food!

Start of with Creamy Mushroom Soup. Quite tasty, but I added a little white pepper for stronger flavor.

We were given salad and nobody knows what kind of salad is it. I always love my vegetables but there’s balsamic vinegar in it. I don’t really like balsamic vinegar.

Calamari rings was really good. I almost forgotten to snap this, so this is what’s left after 5-10 minutes when it’s served.

We were given free flow of pizzas. So many flavors peperoni, chicken with cheese, vegetable and mushroom cheese pizzas. The pizzas are thin crust pizzas but the crust are way to dry and hard, it’s like eating biscuits.

Cheesy sausage, this is really good. The feeling of cheese melt into my mouth when I munch on it is amazing.

I have the main meal which is Italian Meat Ball Spaghetti. The meat balls taste quite pepperish and the spaghetti sauce tasted like light tomato sauce and the portion is quite small.

My BF had Crayfish Spaghetti. It took like more than half and hour for this dish to arrive after my dish is served. The waiting was too long. The spaghetti was already cold.

My BF’s mum had Seafood Spaghetti. The ‘seafood’ that was included was just calamari rings and prawns. The prawn wasn’t really fresh. We were also given free flow of ice lemon tea but the drink was unsweeted, so it was quite a hassle to get sugar syrup to add into it every time there’s a new cup to start with.

Later after dinner at Taglio, we went to a brewery for some boost. Treated by another uncle of my BF.YAY! We were at Brewerkz, located around Clarke Quay. I know these alcohol ages skin, but sometimes it makes me happy and once in a while I’ll like to loosen up a little. I read somewhere that beer can be good for skin too.

They serve food from appetizers to snacks and dessert. A lot of different beers around too.

We had a couple of beer tower and one tower could fill up to eight pints. One pint is about 500ml. I had just a few.

Dinner the next day was at Bratwurst Shop in the food court of Plaza Singapura. I forgot to take a shot of the shop. I quite miss bratwurst sausages ever since I left Australia. It’s like a jumba sausage and guranteed to fill you up. My BF had black pepper sausages with mushrooms.

I had cheese bratwurst sausage with sauerkraut and mustard. Missed mustard so much. The combination of mustard with tomato sauce on chips are the best!

The reason to go to Singapore is to attend on my BF’s cousin’s wedding. Along with it I took the opportunity to do some shopping. Want that fresh light-weighted look like mine? It’s in Sunny Vacation Tutorial.

Other random-ness

Enormously tall elevators at I forgotten where is it. It leads straight up to five floors up I guess.

Sambatida performance right in front of Takashimaya at Orchard Road.

Jowie and I on our Daiso shopping which includes food and drinks. He had soda drink and I had melon soda drink. The soda drink was too carbonated and the melon soda was good.

Where to get some beauty buys in Singapore?

This is just my tips going around Singapore. You may travel around with their train, known as MRT or buses or cabs. If you enjoy walking, just walk by the pathway and don’t forget to abide by the jay walking rules. Some malls are just nearby or next to each other, so you don’t need to worry about the walking distance. Shopping in Singapore can be costly compared to Malaysia, but the products availability is different. Famous places to go for shopping are in Orchard Road and Bugis Junction.

Watsons and Guardian are available as a local drugstore just like how it is in Malaysia. They do carry some brands that isn’t available here. Watsons carries Hello Kitty, Bourjois and K-Palette, meanwhile Guardian carries L.A Girls, NYX (selected outlets only) and Beauty Credit in their store. Malaysia has Beauty Credit but it’s a store itself not carried by any other outlets.  Existing brand like Maybelline has new product like gel liner has not arrived here.

Sasa is another beauty stop where they offer some brands that Malaysia Sasa don’t have like Sana and ELF (limited products with no studio line range). ELF and NYX over there is considered more pricey than on-going sprees available in Malaysia. Another location I would like to pin on is, Stardust. My eyes were oggling out when I stop by the store. There are so many exciting brands but they were too costly for me. I was too excited till I have forgotten to take a picture of the store but don’t worry. I found a site that has details on it, Stardust by John Little – What’s on the Counters? There’s brand like Do-Best, Kiss Me, Kawaii Tokyo, Lioele, Milani and many more. It was a very interesting store.

Last place that I have stopped is Daiso with everything for SGD2. I consider this as extremely cheap (even if I have converted it into RM) because they carry food products in too.I went to the one in Plaza Singapura and I was enjoying it so much. They have more products on home deco, stationery, kitchen appliances and gardening products. They have lesser products on cosmetics and toys.

Almost forgotten the last spot, Sephora. Again, I have forgotten to take a picture of the store but I have a link about it, Sephora opens in Singapore. Basically, I think whatever you can find from Sephora website you may get it in the stores too? Maybe I’m not too sure.  Everything is quite pricey to me but I like the store a lot. I saw Too Faced, Pop Beauty, and many more. But Urban Decay and NARS wasn’t around.

What are my shopping damages?

I just bought a couple of stuff. Still watching on my expenses. Some of the stuff like drinks from Daiso is not in the picture. My bf and I drank it already . Anyways, let’s have a look.

  1. Cotton On Kelis Singlet in Jewel Purple (the brand that I missed so much!) for SGD5 from Cotton On from Wisma Atria, Orchard Road.
  2. Ready to eat scallops for SGD18 from some dried seafood grocer in somewhere of Bugis Street.
  3. Eva Figurine Keychain (from Wall-E) capsule for SGD2 (It was from a capsule machine and I wanted Eva so much. It did came to me~) from some capsule shop in Plaza Singapura, Orchard Road.
  4. L.A. Girl Platinum Collection Moisturizing Formula Lip Gloss for SGD6.44 from Guardian in Wisma Atria, Orchard Road.
  5. L.A. Girl Perfecting Liquid Makeup for SGD14.35 from BHG in Bugis Junction.
  6. Wasabi in tube for SGD2 from Daiso, Plaza Singapura.
  7. Ellefar Multi-cheek for SGD2 from Daiso, Plaza Singapura.
  8. Style Vivant Dust Box for SGD2 from Daiso, Plaza Singapura.
  9. Reed Diffuser in Rose for SGD2 from Daiso, Plaza Singapura [WISHLIST GRANTED ALERT!] Although it’s not Japanese Cherry Blossom from The Body Shop, I’m still happy with it.
  10. Etude House Fluffy Ball Pen for FREE from Etude House, Plaza Singapura

I figured maybe the girls want to have a closer look on the beauty stuff.

  1. Etude House Fluffy Ball Pen was given free to anybody who enters the shop. I heard Etude House is pretty new in Singapore and it’s koreans actually opens the store there (I heard the people in the cashier speaks korean to the guest-door-welcoming guy.
  2. Ellefar Multi-Cheek in Orange from Daiso. This blusher is totally out in Daiso Malaysia. I have two pieces here, one is for me and one is for Lynn. ( I know you wanted other shade but only orange and brown available.)
  3. L.A. Girl Platinum Collection Moisturizing Formula Lip Gloss in LG873 Beige Delight, is perfect with how I want the color to be. It’s completely in nude color.
  4. L.A. Girl Perfecting Liquid Makeup in LM960 Warm Bronze is really good that it stays matte when I tried it but I picked the wrong shade, a little darker. I shall figure out to fix this.Guess that I need to be more careful to pick on foundation shade, its getting tough.

Not much of a beauty ransack because most of them are expensive than sprees. Anybody want to add into where to go about for shopping in Singapore?

I hope everyone enjoy and have fun with the tutorial and shopping info!

It’s been a very long time

Okay! Okay! First of all I appreciate those readers who been patiently waiting for me to update but I was sort of busy after I left Melbourne. I’m really sorry! I have finished my studies and went for graduation ceremony. It was my pride to go up at the stage to take my certificate. Sadly my parents couldn’t be here but it’s all right. I brought back the certificate and photos proudly for them. Tears of joy did not flow from my eyes but I was happy that I have Jowie, his parents and friend who came along in the ceremony to celebrate and be happy for us too. Thanks a lot Jowie, Uncle Jeremy, Aunty Judy, Joel and Victor for attending the ceremony. Now I have graduated with degree, Bachelors of Human Resource Management with Marketing as a minor.

Besides that I have enjoyed myself way too much traveling some part of Australia. Where did I went? First is Tasmania. It is a lovely place to visit, beautiful and wonderful. Its really a cold and windy during the winter. The scenery was amazing! Fantastic brewery tour, busy Salamanca Market, and many more.

Then Jowie and I decided to go back as soon as we receive our bond deposits back but we didn’t want to go back directly to Malaysia. Our first stop was Perth before heading back. At this stop, we took the chance to visit Esther and Diana, our friends back in KDU College. We bunked at Esther’s house for a week. Perth is really fun! We even took a tour to visit the Wildlife Park, chocolate factory, wine tasting, and lots more. The best thing about this tour is we get to have a feel of typical Australian BBQ, the atmosphere and food especially the tour guide a.k.a the boss’s homemade apple pie. It was delicious!

Next stop was Singapore. Those cold days in Australia are pretty strong this year. When I came down from the plane in Singapore, it was totally warm and humid. I quickly took out my boots in the airport food court. Singapore is pretty much almost the same with Malaysia especially the food. Jowie’s cousin is working here and we did catch up with him.

I came back without telling my mum, so called giving her a surprise. We took the KTM (train) from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur and it took them to complete the journey six hours. I will never going to take the train again. Jowie’s parents picked us and send me home. It still couldn’t stand the weather yet, very warm. Maybe get used to the weather in Australia, always being cold except for summer. The next morning I woke up early and hoping in front of my mum tried to scare her. The smile that filled in her face was priceless. I could see that she’s really happy that I’m back but she never says it. It’s usual.

A week after returning, I went to catch up with my best friend, Fyda. I was acting like a foreigner when I saw her approaching her as though I was lost. She jumped and screaming seeing me. Damn I missed her dearly! Ever since then I have been seeing her every week to get some ‘project’ done.

The project that I have just mentioned is an online fashion blog, Fashionoid. This blog is created by Fyda but was inactive for a lot of months. I have approached Fyda with a revival plan and she is totally excited about it. This week is the revival of this blog and I hope to get support from you. It’s your choice to subscribe it or be friends with it or maybe bookmark it to be our loyal reader. If you have opinion, you can always email to us at
