This is my first time trying Boscia products and it would be Boscia BB Cream Light Broad Spectrum SPF27. If you follow me for some time, you’ll notice that its hard for me to pick a good BB cream. Therefore, I can be quite picky.
This one-step wonder creates a lustrous, flawless finish as it hydrates, firms, and soothes the skin. Helps diminish the
appearance of pores, fine lines, and uneven skin tone while providing long-wearing, natural coverage that conceals
imperfections. A self-adjusting shade formulated for all skin types.
- BB Creams first became popular in Asia as anti-aging skin care products that provide buildable coverage and a polished finish
- “Blemish Balms” or “Beauty Balms” flawlessly cover while treating “blemishes” (or, skin imperfections) like lines and wrinkles, loss of firmness, and visible pores
- The boscia BB Cream also color corrects by diminishing and preventing discoloration, dark spots, and dullness
Abyssine 657 (Alteromonas Ferment Extract) (“a’-biss-SEEN”)
- A naturally derived survivor molecule from sea algae that helps defend skin from free radical damage as it helps to restore damaged skin
- Helps reinforce skin’s natural defense mechanisms against external aggressors
- Provides exceptional soothing benefits
The BB cream comes in a squeeze tube with white background and ocean waves designs. One of the reason that I chose to try this is because it is formulated light and oil free with SPF. Of course, I have my doubts earlier if this would turn out grey or oxidize on me.
The BB cream dispenses by the pointy end where gives a much cleaner way to squeeze the product out and to avoid wastage. To a certain point, I could squeeze the BB cream directly to my face before blending it with brush or sponge and there was no contact with my hands.
Just from the swatch itself, I am able to tell that it could be quite light for my skin. The shade doesn’t turn out grey-ish like how some would and I’m surprise to notice after blending that it has some fine glitters. You could see quite a bit at the center of my lower hand.
This BB cream is preservative, artificial fragrance, color, gluten and alcohol free. The active ingredients in this BB cream would be titanium dioxide and zinc oxide which serves the purpose as a sunscreen.
The BB cream is a shade too light for my skin but I am to counter it with a darker foundation powder. Normally, I would blend the BB cream with a brush or sponge. I have been using it for more than week now and I do find that it is easy to blend with either tools. I would try to avoid blending it with fingers to keep them clean.
Here is a before and after, from here you are able to tell how well the coverage of the BB cream is. In my opinion, 1 layer of the BB cream gives a medium coverage. You could also tell how well the coverage does especially around my eye area. Since the shade is a little too light for my skin, I tend not to double layer as I’m afraid I could appear ghostly with over the top BB cream. Though it is light, throughout the time I do notice that it doesn’t seem so bright as it adjusts slightly to my skin shade but not as much.
The BB cream doesn’t appear too grey and after blending the fine glitters is not as visible but it does show in selective areas such as my forehead. It is quite hydrating and gives a dewy finish to my skin.
I would definitely set the BB cream with powder and I chose a foundation powder that is slightly darker to darken the light BB cream.
Despite the shade, I quite like Boscia BB Cream Light Broad Spectrum SPF27 because of it’s light weight formula, easy to blend and kept my skin hydrated pretty well especially when I spend long hours in air conditioning. The backlash from this BB cream is that it doesn’t control oil whereby my face oil began to seep through after the second or third hour after applying it. Blotting it was still fine that the coverage remained well up to 9 hours. There are times I wish that the finishing of the BB cream is my skin because it finishes off bright and radiant. I would recommend this BB cream for normal to combination skin types.
