I picked up this lipstick along with Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation and when it comes to lipstick, I’m always looking forward for the hydration factor, ease of application and opacity. I’m sure that’s what everyone else would look for too, am I right? Let me share my thoughts on Bourjois Rouge Edition Lipstick.

Upon looking closely, the lipstick bullet looked like it has quite a bit of glitters which worries me as I have yet to be ready for any glitter lipstick and was thinking if this could be my everyday lip color.
The shade that I picked is Rose Millesime, which was introduced by the Beauty Advisor on the most wearable color of all. Judging from the label, I saw an arrow on the lower right corner and I was very sure that the label can be peeled off with further information inside.
I was right! Under the label is where the ingredient were listed and from the listing , I noticed that it doesn’t have alcohol or Paraben in it. However, it does have silica if that would be your concern.
The shade number is printed under the lipstick and as mine is Rose Millesime, it is coded as 17.
I bought the lipstick without swatching it as I was in a hurry to purchase it and little did I know that the shade is much more redder and prominent than I thought. I would say the shade is a soft red color. Looking from the outside of the lipstick, I thought it could be a mauve shade or something lighter.
Even so, the shade doesn’t trouble me. It is still wearable and slightly brighter from the swatch. It is quite opaque that the lipstick was able to cover my uneven lip color. Once applied, it doesn’t have any glittery finish and it was creamy. It was easy to apply and glides easily without fuss. Most of the time, I didn’t have to use lip brush to apply it at all and I would still be able to achieve precise application.
This is how I look with the Rose Millesime, it doesn’t look too bad isn’t it? Please ignore my messy hair, I didn’t blow dry it and got that bed head style. This shade is very feminine and good to go for everyday look.
This is one lipstick that I find that is quite nice to have. It fulfilled the 3 factors that I was looking and I didn’t see how it performed any further than it. I really wish that it could have a better staying power as it does slip off easily from drinking and eating. If you are looking for inexpensive basic lipstick, I would recommend you to try this.
