I have a few cheap eye brow pencil sitting on my vanity. By all means when I say cheap, it doesn’t mean that it’s a bad product and not all cheap products are bad. My love for Daiso goodies never died at all and this time round, I’m hunting for more after reading Fiona’s post on Daiso Eye Brow Pencil. I reviewed the same eye brow pencil but in different shade here. I’m currently using this Daiso Eyebrow Pencil Elliptical Core in Dark Brown, sounds like some hardcore scientist product. I didn’t make the name up, it is printed on the pencil.
There are tons of eye brow pencil types available in Daiso and I only look for those that comes with at least 2 function which is retractable and brush. If you ask me, why do I look for these 2 functions? Retractable because there is no need to sharpen and brush to blend without having to use another brush. Normally when an eye brow pencil comes with this 2 function, it is dual ended.
This eye brow pencil comes with a very fancy blister packaging. It’s a plus if you’re a fan of pink since the exterior of the pencil is pink. I always love the fancy packaging which definitely made the eye brow pencil stood out than the rest and they look more lively.
I’m quite happy that it comes with English on the packaging because not every product in Daiso comes with it. However, do pardon the English translation as they may sound inappropriate but it can be understood easily on how this eye brow pencil function.
Though it has fancy blister packaging, the design of the eye brow pencil is just simple. Duo ended, pink with gold writing and lines. The led is in oval shape which helps to give precision to drawing the brows and the brush is a basic spoolie. The cap snaps to close tightly on the earlier usage but I do notice that it gets loose overtime. When it comes to using the led, I have to ensure that it is always twisted back down because there is once I left about 2mm out after drawing my brows and snap close with the cap. The next time I use it, I noticed the led is slightly mashed on the inner cap.
When I purchase this eye brow pencil, I had light hair and I was worried if dark brown could be dark for me. I was wrong and in fact if I draw it lightly, it looks very natural. Now my hair is dark brown (colored with Revlon ColorSilk Hair Color), it compliments so well. For this dark brown shade is brown shade with grey undertone, like taupe or some would say ash brown. I like it that way because it doesn’t have red or yellow undertone that could easily look mismatched. The led does felt a little stuff when I did the swatch on the hand hence it explains why it doesn’t look smooth here.
Pardon on the lack of brow hairs. As much as I want my brow hairs to be more and thicker, it’s just not happening there. I’m still using the Ardell Lash and Brow Growth Accelerator, it works but I wish it could work a little more stronger and faster. Maybe I should consider using hair tonic? I wonder which hair tonic would be effective…if you ever use any, please let me know! Nevermind the brows now, let’s get back to the pencil.
Though from the swatch it doesn’t look smooth but it glides easily when I draw my brows. The wax from the pencil seems to able to control the direction of my brow hair as I use the spoolie to lightly brush them. It stays on pretty well on the areas that is lack of brow hair.
Paying for only MYR5, this eye brow pencil is a great worthy grab. I have not been willing to pay much for eye brow pencil ever since I found the ones from Daiso a few years back. I bought a few other brow pencil that is in Brown which is a shade lighter than Dark Brown and they usually comes with red undertone. I’m not sure what I’m going to do with it. My skin do get oil up easily including my brow area and often when I blot my skin, it did transfer and my brow seems faded a little. I do find that normal, at least it didn’t goes off completely.
Though it comes from Daiso, this eye brow pencil was made in Korea. The only backlash I could think of on this eye brow pencil is that the cap gets looser overtime but it could still stay secured and not every Daiso has this. There are times, they could have ran out of stock. If you are interested to grab this, be sure to stock at least 2. No matter if you are a beginner or pro in drawing eye brow, trust me, you could easily fall in love with this Daiso Eyebrow Pencil Elliptical Core. Dark brown shade is great for those who have black, dark brown or brunette hair color.
