Review: Himalaya Herbals Anti Hair Fall Shampoo

Image Courtey of Himalaya Health Care

A breakthrough 2-in-1 formula that provides root nourishment and strengthens weakened hair. Conditions and improves hair texture to reduce hair fall due to breakage.

 Key Ingredients:

  •  Butea Frondosa: Strengthens hair.
  • Eclipta: Improves hair texture.
  • Pongamia Pinnata: Effective natural anti-fungal ingredient.

This is how the actual Himalaya Herbals Anti Hair Fall Shampoo looked like. It looked exactly how it looked like from the website. I received this from Himalaya’s workshop early last month and it’s 200ml. On the plate from the image above is the texture of the shampoo. It’s semi-transparent medium yellow liquid and appeared glossy.

This is the nozzle, just like how small to medium size of shampoo bottles would be. I would still prefer pump bottles because the shampoo gets around the hole of the nozzle for this. It’s a bit of waste that way.

How to use?

Massage the shampoo on wet hair and scalp, leave it for 2-3 minutes and rinse. Repeat if necessary.

It has mild bitter scent but in a good way. During the workshop, it doesn’t seem like the hairstylist had to use a lot but when I was using it, it was otherwise. Before I shampoo my hair, I did a pre-wash nourishment with Himalaya Revitalizing Hair Oil. I had to use a palmful of shampoo in order to get it lather into foams because when I use the amount that I usually do, it felt like I never shampoo at all.

I like the shampoo when I did not take in the pre-wash nourishment step because it left my scalp non-oily and hair bouncy. I just had to use too much shampoo if the pre-wash nourishment step.  The scent is fine to me and the shampoo did not give me any irritation and I get oil seed on my scalp, it had helped to reduce it. I was given the 200ml and it lasted for 2 weeks (bare in mind pre-wash nourishment step are taken on religiously for the first week). It helps to strengthen my hair because during conditioning, I noticed lesser hair falls compared to before using this shampoo.

Where to find and how much?

They are available in our local supermarkets, drugstores and Himalaya outlets with the retail price at MYR22.90 of 400ml. Prices offered by retailers may differ from current promotion, discount and offers.

  • Doesn’t irritate my scalp
  • Reduce ‘oil seed’ on hair scalp
  • Leaves scalp non-oily and hair bouncy (without pre-wash nourishment)
  • Lesser hair fall

  • Shampoo wastage (with pre-wash nourishment)

My rating: 3.5/5

  1. Hi there..

Same thing happen to me.. I need to use extra amount from other shampoo to have my hair shampoo-ed. Luckily the price is still reasonable.. However, it does leave my hair a bit dry after washing and drying. Other than that, it works fine in getting rid of dandruff. with regular usage of course..
