A unique herbal formulation with extra nourishment of natural proteins derived from Chikpea and Wheatgerm. Enriched with Eclipta and Amla that promote hair growth

Key Ingredients:

  • Chickpea
  • Wheatgerm
  • Amla

This is how the actual Himalaya Herbals Protein Hair Cream Extra Nourishment look like, exactly as shown in the image from their website. I have receive this for review purpose (refer disclaimer) from Himalaya’s workshop earlier last month. It’s packaging reminds me of a jar of hair gel.

This is how it looks on the inside. The jar is filled with mushy white cream which smelt pleasant, nothing too funky. The cream is not as thick just like how moisturizer texture are.   I heard a lot about Amla that it helps to promote hair growth but from the packaging and texture, I have doubts that it could help for hair growth at first.

How to use?

Massage gently on scalp in circular motion and use regularly.

Experience?

I started using it on my hair ends after I shampooed my hair just like how the hairstylist did for me during the workshop. I reckon I can’t use too much as it felt oily on the next day because I apply it on my damp hair, its difficult to estimate how much is enough.

I remember reading on the jar label that you can use this cream before and after washing your hair. So I figured to use it before shampooing, just separate hair into sections and apply the cream using hair dye comb. After the application, I use the same comb to carefully comb my hair to even out the cream on my scalp. Wrap it with plastic bag or cling wrap for better absorption and leave it for an hour before shampooing.

Verdict?

I really like this cream! I notice there are quite amount of baby hair started growing, yea I did give a check on my scalp in my bathroom. I prefer to use it before shampooing because it is less icky and oily this way, in fact it kind of help to fluff up my hair. I use this method everyday for the first week and on every other day on the next week. The only aspect which is least attractive to me is the packaging. I hope Himalaya would consider for tube with pointy nozzle or pump bottle, more hygienic and less messy. One tub of this could last me more than a month.

Where to find and how much?

They are available in our local supermarket, drugstores and Himalaya outlet with retail price of MYR22.90 for 175ml. Prices offered by retailers may differ from current promotion, discount and offer.

PROs:

  • Pleasant scent
  • Promote hair growth

CONs:

  • Packaging is less attractive

My rating: 4.5/5

  1. so apply the product on scalp or hair roots?
hmm just wondering because i am using the revitalising hair oil before shampoo. and now i am wondering if use this cream or oil as pre-nourishment :S

    • I recommend applying on scalp if you opt for using before shampooing and after shampooing if you have dry hair ends. I was told by Himalaya that we can use the hair oil on every other day, it doesn’t have to be daily. You can use this cream on the days when you’re not using the oil. I hope this helps.

  2. My hair started to fall right after I tried this product. I thought it will prevent my hair fall problem but it made it worse 🙁

    • I’m sorry that happened to you. Have you return or make claims to Himalaya?
