Review: KilaDoll Licorice & Job’s Tear Whitening Mask

This mask was included in Vanity Trove April 2013 and only recently, I had decided to use because I have not been using sheet mask for 2-3 weeks now. I think I saw them before in Guardian on the clearance shelf before but I have not use them personally. KilaDoll uses silk wooden pulp fiber from Japan which safe, suitable and breathable for skins. I only have one pack of this mask and I’m only reviewing based on one usage.

It also comes with a protective film which helps to prevent the mask from tearing while unfolding it. This mask has very strong floral scent which lingers about 10 minutes during the application.

Kila Doll Licorice & Job's Tear Whitening Mask Application

Here is how I used it. Simply apply it on cleansed face and leave it for 20 minutes. The mask width fits perfectly onto my face but not the length. It was a little long and I had to fold it on the nasobial lines. Also there was no further slit on the nose area, I had to cut it myself to make it fit nicely.

Kila Doll Licorice & Job's Tear Whitening Mask Before & After

Here is a close up on my skin (not a perfect skin!). Right after I remove the mask, it gives an instant brightness but the camera didn’t pick it up so well. From the after image, I can tell that my skin is less shiny.

Normally I’m not very particular on scents but oh my, this is way too strong! From only one usage, I can tell that it gives instant brightening effect and moisture but my scars doesn’t seem to fade much. On the next day, it pretty much feels the same. Maybe n long term, it might help but I cannot assure you since I’m not a long term user. Throughout the application, I did not develop any allergy or irritation. I only know what they are available at Guardian and Zalora, retails for MYR 39.90 for a box of 10 pieces.

  • Instant brightness and hydration
  • Affordable

  • Perfume scent is too strong
  • No slits for nose area
  • Brightening effect doesn’t last from one usage
  • Contains Paraben

My Rating: 3.5/5
