“Make room in your make-up bag for the ultimate everyday eye shadow! With a light, silky texture, Earth Spirits is ideal to create a subtle day look for the office of a dramatic, sexy look in the evening. Micro color pigments mean that the colors are resistant to creasing or fading and there’s a color to suit every occasion – choose from soft neutrals through to strong, fashion colors hot off the catwalks of Milan and Paris, It’s so versatile that make-up artist love to use it as an eyeliner as well.” – Max Factor UK

The actual product available in Malaysia has the full name instead of just MF as shown from the first image. Its a very cute and handy packaging that comes with a transparent screw lid with one third of it is frosted. The lid clearly showing the shade for an easier selection when you want to buy, try or use them. The diameter of the product is approximately 3.8cm.

I received Max Factor Earth Spirit Eye Shadow in Ultra Aqua for review purposes via Yuberactive in Ultra Aqua, please refer disclaimer.

Let’s look at the close up of it. It could last for 36 months upon opening and made in Ireland. It doesn’t look chalky but seems pretty shimmery.

Here is the sample shade shown from the web. The shade seems to be more creamy than the actual product which I don’t think that it could help for ones to decide what shade that they want when they purchase online. It’s much shimmery and the sample shade just doesn’t do any justice.

Here’s a swatch for the eye shadow and you can see it’s pretty shimmery. It has gold pigments to it and it doesn’t crumble when picking up the eye shadow with finger or makeup brush. The shade is not too overwhelming , you can either go light with it for day and heavier for night or dramatic look. Because it is so shimmery, it stands out very well to just use it as eyeliner.

This shade is also suitable to create creative looks like mermaid, Medusa, basilisk or any other looks that needs aqua shade with gold pigments to it. I put it into test using this eye shadow with and without primer, let’s see what’s the result.

With Primer:

The eye shadow is more even in one sweep and it looks more pigmented. The eye shadow blends very well without  it losing it’s color intensity.

Without Primer:

Compared to the one with primer, the one sweep seems is not as even. When I tried blending it on the crease, it is blend-able however the eye shadow below the crease faded.

Ingredients:

Talc, Mica, Coco-Caprylate/Caprate, Zinc Stearate, Dimethicone, Polyethylene, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Trimethylsiloxysilicate, Calcium Sodium Borosilicate, Octyldodecyl Stearoyl Stearate, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Lecithin, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Ethylparaben, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Tin Oxide [+/- CI 15850, CI 19140, CI 42090, CI 73360, CI 75470, CI 77007, CI 77288, CI 77289, CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499, CI 77510, CI 77742, CI 77891, CI 77163]

Verdict?

I reckon this is a very good eye shadow provided that you use it along with a primer. With or without primer, it doesn’t loose its shimmer. As it has gold pigments to it, it reflects light making your eyes look warm at the same time. I’m surprised how affordable it is for such a great quality. It doesn’t have much scent to it, call it a yay for fragrance-sensitive skin. However this is a no-no for those who are allergic to any of it’s ingredient, otherwise this is a MUST TRY!
