Review: Purifying Water Shock Toner

‘SWISS LINE`S NEWEST COLLECTION – It is anticipated that WATER SHOCK will be another trailblazing range from Swiss line. As the only skincare brand to contain the Alpine “Wild Water”, Swiss line has combined the richness of the “Wild Water” brilliantly with ingredients sourced across different continents to deliver products that efficaciously does its function for cleansing, toning and removing make-up and at the same time maximizes the skin’s turn-around action. WATER SHOCK is formulated to be used with Swiss line’s Cell Shock, Force Vitale, Ageless Purity and Anti-Redness collections. Cell Shock White has its own unique cleansers and toners.’ – Swiss Line

‘This active, alcohol-free astringent toner purifies and mattifies as it removes the last traces of make-up and oil, with a refining effect that counteracts open pores. The probiotic formula promotes beneficial bacterial flora and fights blemishes.’ – Swiss Line Water Shock Purifying Toner

The key ingredients are:

  • Alpine Wild Water – helps to detoxify, boost skin metabolism and strengthen it, ideal for most skin types
  • Watercress extract – helps to detoxify and regulate skin moisture balance for purified, healthy glowing skin.
  • Bioecolia – its a pharmaceutical ingredient, which helps to diminish acne and other skin imperfections.
  • White Nettle Extract – a natural antibiotic and anti-fungal agent, with astringent and anti-inflammatory properties.

The nozzle is at the top of the bottle with a flip top cap and this is my first time seeing such nozzle for a bottle of toner. I accidentally spill some of the toner on the first few application but after that everything went well. No spillage and it controls the amount of toner dispensed.

Though the toner look green from the bottle, its just a hint of green when dispensed. Like many toners, its in the liquid form and I love the scent. It has fresh floral scent to it.

Here is the ingredients listing printed on the box.

I used this toner along with the Swiss Line Water Shock Refreshing Foaming Cleanser, therefore the results is pretty much the same. I did notice that I don’t break out as often anymore and some of the acne spots did faded especially on the cheek area.

Verdict?

I love this toner that it smells and feel refreshing. Also, its alcohol-free which is a plus point. Although in the description it says it mattifies, I don’t seem to experience that effect. It feels just like many other toners, helps to remove cleanser and/or makeup residues. Because the cleanser dried out my cheeks and chin area, the toner is not enough to rehydrate those areas. With the flip top nozzle, it makes the toner much more economical because I notice I have used more than half of the cleanser but this is less than half a bottle. Though it has Bioecolia to diminish acne, it did not completely stop my breakout. I still get it but not as often and blackheads are much lesser but not completely gone.
