Most of us went ga-ga over Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain including me when they were first released. Expanding the range, now Revlon named it as Revlon ColorBurst™ Crayon Collection consist of Revlon ColorBurst Balm Stain (previously known as Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain), Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm and Revlon ColorBurst Lacquer Balm. For this post, I’ll be reviewing Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm.
” A Matte finish that’s beyond plush. Balm that’s beyond comforting. Our Triple Butter Complex of Shea, Coconut and Mango butters nourishes lips.
8 shades with a velvety matte finish and balm-like feel
Infused with Triple Butter Complex of Shea, Mango and Coconut Butter
Light peppermint fragrance
Propel/Repel crayon means no sharpening required” – Revlon
Notice how the entire packaging is also matte? It’s great in a way that it’s easier to identify what type of finish to avoid confusion since there is Balm Stain and Lacquer. I appreciate very much for having to see seals like this to ensure no one has ever opened it. I don’t quite remember if the Balm Stain has it earlier.
The shade that I received is Showy Flamboyante, a very bright and bold pink shade. Just like how the Balm Stain looked, this comes in a chubby stick that shapes almost like a lipstick. It’s retractable and the twist-up of the Matte Balm is to show you how much product you are getting.
Here is a swatch and I love how bright this color is. Although in this swatch, it doesn’t look as matte as I expected, it always differs when it comes to having it on the lips. The texture is very creamy and great color pay off. If you like to wear a pop of color like Nicky Minaj, do pick this shade!
Here is a comparison of before and after applying the Matte Balm. You could see how distinctive this shade is and because of the bold shade, it accentuates the shape of my lips. What I like when having to apply this, is the same minty scent and it tingles a little on the lips just as how it was with Balm Stain. It doesn’t feel heavy on the lips at all.
Just by the name of Showy Flamboyante, it portrays how flashy and showy this shade. Bright and noticeable.
I do notice that there isn’t alcohol and paraben in the ingredients but it does have silica, which I have no problem with it.
Above all…
Although my lips are not as thick to pull off matte finish lip products, I still love this! I love the color pay-off, buttery and creamy texture and glides on smoothly onto my lips. Also the propel crayon tip is a bonus because there is no need to sharpen it where it is much lesser hassle to go with. However, unlike Balm Stain which promotes longer lasting power but Matte Balm doesn’t because it’s transferable and wear-off over a meal. Even so, it kept my lips hydrated because my lips were chapped before and they are very much healed now. They were available over the shelves since January 2014 and from time to time there are promotions for this range.

Thank you! I love how it helped to improve my photos too. This Matte Balm is worth for the color pay-off, plus its non-drying for a matte finish lippie.
