Review: Revlon ColorStay Whipped Creme, Buildable Coverage That Last Exceptionally Well

I always turn to my holy grail Revlon ColorStay Liquid Foundation for it’s coverage and oil control power. I tend to get really picky with it comes to foundation because I like those that gives matte, at least medium coverage and with oil control properties. I get the chance to try Revlon ColorStay Whipped Creme and let’s see what I have got to say for this foundation.

Revlon ColorStay Whipped Creme in Nude & Medium Beige

I love that it’s package in glass jar which makes it looks more sturdy. In Malaysia, we have 4 shades available and I was sent with two shades which is 220 Nude and 250 Medium Beige which is the first two lightest shades. They both look almost the same shade though Medium Beige is suppose to be a shade darker.

Revlon ColorStay Whipped Creme in Nude & Medium Beige Description

At the bottom of the glass jar, there is peel-off description and also includes the ingredient list. This does contail salicylic acid and silica.

Revlon ColorStay Whipped Creme in Nude & Medium Beige Jar & Swatch

There is another jar lid preventing spillage of the foundation which I think it’s good because most of us could possibly be careless when opening the jar. The texture seems heavy and creamy from the jar.  From the swatch I could see the difference of both shades. Nude has pink undertone while Medium Beige has yellow undertone and slightly darker than Nude. Upon blending, the mousse texture felt so easy and smooth to blend.

Revlon ColorStay Whipped Creme in Nude & Medium Beige Application

I apply this foundation using a stippling brush and it blends in easily. In fact, it creates quite a flawless canvas and it does feel light weight. It finishes off light matte and slightly dewy. I then set the foundation with my foundation powder.

Revlon ColorStay Whipped Creme in Nude Before & After

Here is a before and after of  using 220 Nude. It seems a little light for my skin tone and I could tell how well it did cover my flaws just from one layer.  My dark circles and redness at my nose area was very well concealed. I think this shade is best to suit for those who has light and fair skin.

Revlon ColorStay Whipped Creme in Nude Lasting Power

Upon testing the lasting power, I’m already in love how well it lasted. Though it doesn’t provide much oil control and I did blot away the oiliness. It did wear off a little on my nose area but considering that it has past more than 9 hours, it lasted pretty well and it did not oxidize on me.

Revlon ColorStay Whipped Creme in Medium Beige Before & After

Here is a before and after for the shade 250 Medium Beige and this is perfect for me. This is great for those who is slightly tanner than fair skin tone. Especially when I have yellow undertone, this fits as my skin shade better than Nude. I’m loving the coverage so much!

Revlon ColorStay Whipped Creme in Medium Beige Lasting Power

Here’s after more than 9 hours and my after seems redder, maybe because the camera picked up my lip shade, Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm in Showy Flamboyante. In real, it doesn’t look as red. Could you see how the coverage lasted so well?

Above all…

This is my next holy grail foundation! Though this doesn’t have great oil controlling power, I love how well the coverage stays despite of me blotting it numerous times (at least 6 times) and it doesn’t look powdery, cakey or overly done for me.  I did notice that it creases on my eyelid when I’m not wearing any eye shadow. The blending seems effortless and coverage is buildable as I tried layering on my under eye area and nose because those are the areas I knew I had to cover the flaw. I would say this is great for normal to oily skin. This mousse textured foundation comes with SPF20 and I liked how it didn’t create any white cast like how some foundations with SPF does. It is slightly pricey than the liquid foundation but the price pays for the packaging and lasting power of it.

  1. Love your review babe! =)
I absolutely adore this foundation, and has been my go to for a while now! The shade Caramel suits me perfectly…The glass jar packaging is great, but I’m always afraid I’ll drop it and *glass shatters* And the jar packaging is definitely messy, I’m afraid it isn’t a travel friendly foundation, but on the plus side, it has great coverage and stays put. 🙂

    • True that on the packaging. I do find it bulky and you reminded me this is not going to be so nice while I travel. Oh dear…
