Review: Smoochin’ Buttery Pout Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butters

I hauled these highly raved Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butters last month and nonetheless, here comes the review!  What do you think I’ll have to say about these lip butters?

“Buttery balm with beautiful shiny color to give you baby soft, healthy glowing lips” – Revlon

There are only eight shades available in Malaysia, unlike in US they have 20 shades ( why can’t we have more? *cry*). The introductory price from Guardian was MYR24.90 which is very affordable especially coming in as a new product from Revlon. Now, they are also available in Watsons for MYR24.80! With the eight shades available, I hauled Peach Parfait, Strawberry Shortcake, Lollipop and Brown Sugar. I will go through each of the lip butters that I have.

Peach Parfait

This is a sheer coral shade with gold glitters to it, gives a lot of shine for the lips when you applied them. As you can tell the “New” sticker is wearing off, I used this more often than the rest of the shades that I have. One of the most wearable and popular shade among many users.

Strawberry Shortcake

This is a baby pink shade that has cool undertone to it and it is more pigmented than Peach Parfait. This doesn’t have glitter and it’s creamy. If you have cool undertone, I think this could be wearable daily. I have warm undertone, I could pull this off on selective occasions. It’s a very sweet and delicate shade that I’d wish to wear it everyday!

This is a fushia shade, a very bright and bold color. You’ll notice how these lip butters are more pigmented as the shades go deeper. Since this is so pigmented, I would advice to apply lip liner and top this off for longer lasting effect. These lip butters are so light that they slips off easily. Also, you’ll need to be precise with the application since the shade is so bold.

Brown Sugar

This is one of the brown shades available, I think it’s the lightest ones. It a sheer bronze shade and it’s great for anyone who wants to rock tan and/or bronze-y look.

Like many would say, I LOVE THESE LIP BUTTERS! They are light, moisturizing and non sticky. They are in between lip balms and lip sticks. When I first got these, I had a hard time opening it because the size of the lip butter base is very limited and my finger seems to be too big for it but now I’m getting to use to it. They are fragile!  Try to apply them with slight pressure because my Peach Parfait is a little crooked that it touches the rims of the lip stick. When I twisted it down, the rim scrapes a little of the lip butter. I also accidentally touched Strawberry Shortcake with my nails and if you look back at the image, its misshaped by it’s tip. I use clear lip balms most of the time until one day, I forgotten my lip balm but I had Peach Parfait. The moisturizing effect last so long until the lip butter completely rubs off.  That’s awesome, right? It also has a mild sweet scent to it.

How much and where to buy?

I bought this from Guardian for MYR24.90 each and you can also find them at Watsons for MYR24.80. I believe they are also available at drugstores, supermarket or departmental store where there is Revlon.
