Review: Spare Me With 1000 Smooches!

‘1000 Kisses Lip Tint gives your lips a royal flush of intense, vibrant colour that stays on duty and ready for action for hours – leaving no trace, so your kisses never tell.
The speedy two-step application delivers a fabulously flawless finish that is totally on trend and just begs to be kissed. A precision pen-tip delivers the mistake-free colour you’re looking for and a caring balm seals the deal, giving lips the extra moisturising they’ve been waiting for.
There are 6 must-have shades in a translucent colour-matched design that gives you the freedom of being able to re-invent your look every day.’ – Rimmel London

I have been wanting to try lip tint so much especially Revlon Just Bitten Lipstain (which hasn’t arrive yet and I wish they will). Rimmel London Lasting Finish 1000 Kisses Lip Tint  looks very similar and I thought I might as well just give this a try. Its like a marker-sized pen where you apply the color on clean lips first, followed by the balm to add moisture and shine.

I have mine in the shade Perpetual Plum. This marker-sized lipstain is dual ended where one gives color to your lips and another is the balm. The one that gives color does look like a marker tip which be able to give precise application and the balm on the other end is blunt and translucent.

This is how it looks like on my lips. I separated it into 3 images where you could see the difference of the lip tint pigment as well as after adding the balm. This shade has blue undertone to it.

When lip tint arrived on my hand, its hard to resist not to open it. I was pretty excited, open immediately and tried it. One thing that I least expected is the scent of the lip tint. Man, it smells like cough syrup or concentrated raspberry. That is such a turn off and the scent is pretty strong to my liking. The marker-like felt tip feels gentle on my lips and I love the tip for precise application. I didn’t notice the balm, my bad for not reading the instruction first and my lips were dry wearing the lip stain along. Finally when I discovered the balm (it took me 10 minutes), it was a relief for my lips. The color is buildable and the balm was very moisturizing but it does felt a little heavy.

I did a transfer-proof test where I kiss on the back of my hand on freshly applied lips and only a tinge bit of color came off. However, this is not waterproof and doesn’t really stain my lips at a very minimal color. Once I have a couple of sips of my water, 50% of the color came off and what’s left are on my lip edges. Also, the lid for the balm always get in the way making me poking into the balm always.

I want to love this but the scent is a no-no to me and I wish it has better staying power than just transfer-proof, otherwise it makes no difference than using a lipstick that promises transfer-proof. The balm does make my lips shine and moisturized but its just a little heavy to my liking as though I just had an oily fried chicken. When I applied only with the lip tint, it doesn’t feel like I applied anything.
