Hey, everyone! It has been almost a week that I have not been updating because I have just changed my full time job. It is very challenging and I’m juggling in between at the moment but I will promise not to abandon my blog. I have received encouraging words to keep my blog and Youtube alive, thank you very much for those who did!
Time flies really fast when I remember Timeless Truth approached me to introduce their latest serum a month ago. In their latest serum, there are five types and with the type of skin that I have (which is combination acne prone skin), they have recommended me to try Timeless Truth Pore Minimizing Green Tea Serum.
‘This Pore Minimizing Green Tea Serum formula instantly tightens and refines enlarged pores while preventing acne. This refining serum treatment controls the oil secretion and promotes a fresh and balanced complexion, leaving the skin smooth and radiant.
Green tea extract, aloe extract , calendula extract, pore factor, oil factor.
Conditioning the skin , clean grease , prevent acne, improve large pores and dull , making skin smooth and soft.
Getting to know the key ingredients
Green Tea Extract is an antioxidant and has cell protective qualities that protect the collagen by inhibiting collagenase. It is easily absorbed and helps skin fight inflammation that may cause premature aging. It also has excellent astringent qualities that help maintain elasticity and firmness of the skin.
Aloe Vera Extract stimulates new cell growth. The interior gel from Aloe Vera increases production of fibroblast cells. This fibroblast cells product collagen to allow smoother and tighten skin elasticity, meanwhile moisturizes and improve blood circulation.
Chamomile is known as both a pretty flower and an ancient healer. Not only is it an ideal ingredient for various skin problems, including acne, irritation, it also promotes granulation and cell regeneration. Chamomile contains phenolic and azulene derivatives which soften the skin, making it an effective in anti-aging, and helps reduce puffiness and cleanse pores of impurities.
Calendula, a plant extract, has been used throughout history in skin preparations. Calendula is beneficial for dry or damaged skin and also promotes the fast healing and regeneration of the skin thanks to its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. Applying calendula topically may help decrease inflammation and promote the healing of wounds, burns, eczema and other inflammatory skin conditions. Because of calendula’s anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties, it’s often used in preparations for sunburns, rashes, insect bites and other mild skin irritations. Calendula treatments can help soothe contact dermatitis from environmental causes. Clinical data supports the properties of calendula in topical applications of 2 to 10 percent. Calendula’s effect on inflammation and tissue regeneration makes it an effective natural wound healer.’
The serum comes in a glass droplet bottle that is very travel friendly because I never had any problem carrying it around even during my business trip. Even so, I had to be careful with it since it is made of glass. The designation of the bottle is very simple with green background and white letter prints as labeling.
I have been warned that due to the texture, it does take time for the skin to absorb. The warning is true but I have been enjoying to massage my face to ensure my skin fully absorbs the serum. I always believe that massaging promotes blood circulation but if you have oily skin, it is not recommended as it will aggravate the sebum production. Just like the facial essences or essences from sheet mask, this serum texture is rather thick and slimy, it could get tacky to a certain point during the application but after a few taps, my skin absorbs it without any oily residue. It does have a very light floral scent.
Tested it for a month and here is my four weeks course of experimenting the serum. Please ignore the dark circles and puffy eyes. I do notice that my skin gets clearer in selected areas and still getting acne on other parts. I love how my skin remained clear and more radiant on my upper face.
If you read my recent reviews, you will notice that I actually do sebum extraction myself. During the sebum extraction, I realize that I’m still extracting quite amount of blackheads around the forehead, nose and chin area.
Here is the comparison of before and after using Timeless Truth Pore Minimizing Green Tea Serum for a month. I think my skin has been improving on the hydration as I noticed that my skin seems to be plumper recently. The old acne scars are fading slowly but there are still new acne coming up.
Green tea is something I love a lot but this serum does contain alcohol, however, I believe the percentage is very minimal since it is listed on the very last few ingredients.
As much as I love green tea with wishful thoughts for this serum, I do find that this serum is in a very mild and gentle formula because I am still experiencing the breakout. Especially with the humidity in tropical weather (plus it is crazily warm recently), I still find that my skin gets oily easily. I do have to give credit that it kept my skin much more hydrated than before and I usually get dryness on my cheeks.
My pores isn’t showing much improvement but for as long as I have been using this serum, I did not experience any irritation or allergy. I would say if you have normal mild combination skin, this could be suitable for you as it is works good to sooth skin with hydration. Maybe the application could just be concentrated on the cheeks instead of the entire face.
