Rimmel London Gentle Eye Make Up Remover Review

Gently removes all eye make up, including long lasting and waterproof make up. No oily residue. Suitable for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers. Dermatologically and Ophthalmologically tested.

I was browsing around Watsons for some budget makeup remover and I found Rimmel London Gentle Eye Make Up Remover. It was for only RM15+ in a clear bottle of 125ml.

I like this type of nozzle because this would prevent spillage especially when you’re first time user. Another credit for this since it would prevent spillage, it helps you to save some too.

The makeup remover doesn’t have any smell and it’s in a clear liquid. Almost felt exactly like water. What I realize from this is it’s better to dispense less than more because when it’s too much, it gets into the eye and it gives some swell feeling to your eyes but you can’t see it physically. Don’t worry I didn’t get any irritation or red eye from it, after a few minutes my eye felt like normal. Let’s run the test!

This is before using the makeup remover. The eyeliner is in water-proof formula.

With one swipe (left):

I just apply the facial cotton with the makeup remover on my eye and leave it for 5 seconds and gently swipe it. You can actually see that almost all of the eyeshadow vanished and left with some eyeliner and mascara residue.

After a few more swipes (right):

Almost all of the eye makeup is gone by now but I wouldn’t say it’s 100% because there is still mascara leftover if you see carefully. After a few blinks and/or result in rubbing my eyes, I do get some mascara shadow on my under eye. I do like that it doesn’t feel dry, like I said earlier it felt just like water! You can actually feel as though water is remove the makeup. It doesn’t feel oily at all, me likey!

Result on the facial cotton after removing all my eye makeup on one side. I think it depends on how heavy your eye makeup is but with the eye makeup I’ve shown above, I only use one facial cotton for both eyes.

Since it’s gentle enough for eyes, I also use it on lips and it works pretty well with lipstick and lip gloss. Just need to work a little harder with lip liners. Sometimes I even use it on my face.

Here are the ingredients listing and I think there wasn’t any alcohol? It’s made in Monaco and it could last for 12 months upon opening. I could say I’m pretty happy with the product although I need to work out for a bit on removing the mascara. I think I’ve used it for about 3-4 months on daily basis, mostly around eye area.
