Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick in Pink Blush Review

Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick promises to provide up to 8 hours staying power. With their new improved formula of Color Protect technology gives 25% more color impact and enriched with 50% longer wearing color-boost pigments becomes the head of attention wherever you go.

I received this lipstick for review purposes upon becoming the member of Yuberactive. The lipstick looks more elegant than I thought it used to be and this is the improved version of the previous lasting finish lipstick. Let’s compare to see what’s the difference with the old one.

The shade provided is Pink Blush and if you look from the image on the left, the shade looks really sweet! I always love the candy smell of Rimmel London’s lipstick and they never fail on it but I’m sure not everybody will be liking the smell of it.

On the right is the old version of the lipstick. Physically, you can see the logo embedded on the new lipstick is is much deeper, making it look more clearer. Secondly, the new lipstick added silver rim in the middle making it look more elegant. Third, the old lipstick packaging is fat and shorter than the new one.

I think the shade might be a little too cold for me though seeing it from the swatch makes it look so sweet and might suit everyone. My skin is suitable to carry more on warmer shades. It’s a creme lipstick, it finishes with a slight gloss. Nothing too sparkly or matte. You can say the shade is like barbie-pink or pop art pink.

I find the lipstick glides smoothly onto my lips, easier than I thought it was. The old version application wasn’t as smooth as this one and I really like how the pigmented the lipstick is and it’s the color intensity is definitely stronger than the old one!

If you see my before and after image, the lipstick shade looked so pretty on my lips.  The shade just made my lips looking more pouty and it color shows up pretty even onto my lips. It’s really moisturizing because I wore it for about two to three hours and it did not dry up my lips at all. The old version dried my lips.

This is how I looked with the lipstick. Please bare with that messy hair and that dull face (no makeup). The lipstick shade wash me out, making me looking pale and dull. Maybe if I wear some heavy eye makeup, it could look better because this shade just gives the ‘pop’ but I don’t think this is my shade after-all. Since this isn’t my shade, I didn’t wear it outside at all. I was just trying it at home only, therefore I can’t really tell if it could last up to 8 hours. Don’t get me wrong, I do think that this is a good lipstick and it can be suitable for everyday look. You just have to pick the right shade for yourself.

This lipstick is available in many local drugstores in Malaysia including selected departmental store at the retail price of RM21.90. Definitely affordable.

PROs:

  • Easy glide application
  • Greater pigmentation
  • Moisturizing
  • New elegant packaging
  • Candy-like smell
  • Creme texture
  • Affordable

CONs:

  • Unsuitable shade

My rating: 4/5

p/s: I was given only about a week to come out with this review which I think it’s pretty short. When I received it, it includes a letter of instruction and reminder of the due date. I really take this seriously because I’m aware of the terms and condition. I have two products to review and have both due dates are the same. Yesterday I received an email of reminder on the due date which I really appreciate. Today I received a call reminding me again and it’s starts to annoy me because the caller didn’t sound like she’s questioning or reminding at first. The due date for my review is tomorrow.
