Synopsis:

“”The Iron Lady” is a surprising and intimate portrait of Margaret Thatcher, the first and only female Prime Minister of The United Kingdom. One of the 20th century’s most famous and influential women, Thatcher came from nowhere to smash through barriers of gender and class to be heard in a male dominated world.” – Movie Web

Initially, Fatin had a giveaway for these tickets and it was a great opportunity for her readers to join her for a movie date. Later on, she offered to catch up with this movie and told me that she has extra, how could I say no? This is an exclusive screening in conjunction to International Women’s Day which falls on 8th March with The Body Shop Malaysia.

It was great meeting Fatin and her readers, Tammy and her readers too. It was held at the Golden Screen Cinemas, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur. Also, this movie night is for the good cause, it a charity night where all the proceeds will go to the Chin Refugee School (CSO Learning Center) KL.

There were many expats who arrived for the movie screening and part of it are the sponsors. Sponsors are from The Body Shop, Crown Relocations, Traders Hotels, Pierre Ledent, L’oreal, O’briens, The Connoisseurs, Narimpex, 2bUNIQ, nectaflor, Antipodean, Harrods, Intercontinental Hotels and Resorts, Fisherman’s Friend, Loacker, Ferrero Rocher and Wernli.

We are served with cheese and crackers, wine and soft drinks while waiting for the event to start. The cheese is so good!

The cheese platter kept coming and its getting in larger portion. This time with grapes too, it comes along great after all the cheesiness. LOL!

The event started soon after with welcoming all the guests, sharing with us about Chin Refugee School (CSO Learning Centre) KL and live charity auction of hampers worth MYR 2000 – 3000. Other than so, there was a black donation roaming around where they seek  general donations from the guests. There was also silent charity auction of different art works.

The movie was very interesting and of course, this is history. Meryl Streep, the award winner in the Oscars has portrayed such a strong character showing there isn’t any boundaries for women to be in politics. I’m not going to be a spoiler but its quite worth watching, so here is a trailer for you and they are available for public screening now!
