I could be quite picky on eye creams but I couldn’t help it to try Benefit Puff Off! Instant Eye Gel. What attracted me the most is the ‘iron’ tip applicator. Let’s find out more!
‘Why we love it!

How to apply
Squeeze once and dot under each eye…then go back and glide on with “ironing” tip.
Puff off! works on bare skin or over makeup. When applying on top of makeup, gently pat with fingertips to blend.’
The eye gel comes in a slim squeeze tube which may look ordinary and at the base of the tube where the lid is has a little badge of ‘smooth o-matic’.
The custom ‘iron’ tip definitely looks like it and cools on contact. This is one of the function that excites me and I’m curious how it feels to use this applicator. My doubts are if it will tug around my eye area. Squeeze the tube and the eye gel dispenses in the middle of the applicator.
Though it is claimed that it is an eye gel, the texture looks like a light-weight cream of soft peach color. Once it is fully absorbed, my skin feels really soft and brighter.
This eye gel does contain alcohol and fragrance which I wouldn’t suggest for those who has sensitive skin.
I normally would use it before makeup which is my comfort level in terms of hygienic reasons. This is how I use it by squeezing the tube to dispense the cream, dot on the under eye as well as eye lid, spread the gel using the ‘iron’ tip using dabbing motion and massage the gel from inside out in 1 way to avoid unnecessary tugging. After the application, it leave a cool minty feeling around my eye area.
On an immediate effect, it brightens the eye area and as you could see my camera did manage to catch the brightness. What’s best is the brightness effect doesn’t leave any patches, satin finish and not tacky.
This is the result of after using it for a week. To be honest, I could hardly see much difference other than the brightening effect.
I’d like to say this is more of a quick fix and preps your eye for makeup because I did notice that I did not experience any creasing since I applied this. Now, this eye gel sounds like a primer.
I did some read up and came across that it is said this eye gel is considered as a makeup not skincare. Since it is known as eye gel, it may create confusion to some customers thinking to include this as part of their skincare regime. There is a need to remove this eye gel with a remover at the end of the day. Eventually I would still use makeup remover to remove my eye makeup at the end of the day and it is not an issue for me.
I like how it gives that instant brightness and reduces the appearance of fine lines. However on reducing eye puffiness effect is very minimal. It doesn’t leave my skin tacky and it absorbs pretty quickly.
