Empro Cosmetics Bonbrow, Second Touch Up and My Brows Look Way Much Better Than Before

Two weeks ago, I went for another round to touch up my brows. I was unhappy of how it turned out after my first Bonbrow touch up and made another appointment a month later.

May Yong has permanently transferred to their outlet at Sg Wang, which is definitely much closer to where I am living. Just like the first time, I went through the same process of embroidery and I could feel this time is slightly more painful than before. The pain chills through my bones. Most probably because I was not feeling well during my appointment, I have been sick for the past 3 weeks with fever, heavy cough and flu. Let’s have a look on how it turns out this time.

Empro Bonbrow Second Touch Up

I like how it turns out this time, it’s not patchy and everything looks much more even out. The fullness looks natural after the peeling and it blends naturally with my real brow hairs.

My left brows is always the weird one (it has always been!) because it will always look much higher. May had tried her best to help me to fix this (she even took a few shots of photos with her personal mobile to make comparison) and now it is much more less obvious.

Since I am happy with my brows now, I really need to think what are ways I could grow more brow hairs which is a touch one. Share with me if you have any good remedy!

Empro Cosmetics BonBrow, Touch Up After A Month

Last month I went for Empro Bonbrow and a month later, I went for a touch up session which I definitely need it because my brows look way too natural from what I have expected. From my purchase, I am entitled with a free touch up session.

The process goes the same as how I had described it in my previous post. I’m so glad to meet my artist again, May as she is very patient to hear what I want to archive for me brows. Since the outcome turned out so natural, I did share with her I want my brows look even thicker and flatter. Basically, like the current trending Korean brows. This would be able to shorten my oblong face shape.

Empro Bonbrow Touch Up

This is how it looks like after the touch up. It looks really thick like Shin Chan which I didn’t mind because I know I will go through the process of peeling and the brow shape would shrink.

Empro Bonbrow Touch Up After Peel

After a week, this is how it looks like. Definitely this looks so much better and from this photo, the shade may look uneven but it’s quite alright in real. I do notice where my left brow seem to be higher than the right and it’s some area are not quite filled at the top part of my brows. The front of the brows seems shorter, slightly more further from my nose bridge.

I did share my concern to May on what if I am still not happy with my brows. She mentioned where I could come back a month later to get them fixed without charges. I think I would need to look out for her again to fix my left brow.

Empro Bonbrow Touch Up - Traclyn & May Yong

This is May Yong, where I promised in my previous post that I would get a photo with her. She is the Senior Artist as well as Assistant Supervisor of Empro Mid Valley. She is highly recommended for her service, patience and experience. Feel free to look out for her if you would like to get your brows done.

Empro Cosmetics Bonbrow, New Brows To Usher The New Year

My brows is always a dilemma, they are sparse, unruly and not in a proper shape. I have been thinking of doing brow embroidery for the past few months and finally decided to get it just recently at Empro Cosmetics in Mid Valley.

Empro Bonbrow Before

This is a show of my naked brows, they do not have strong shape to frame my eyes and you could see my left brow, it looked all so wonky. I came to a conclusion to do brow embroidery because of how my brow looks and chose Empro because I was their customer ages ago and I trust their work art. Brow embroidery unlike tattoos, they look more natural and could last up to 2-3 years depending on individuals. Also, I chose Mid Valley outlet because it is highly recommended by many customers.

Empro Bonbrow Before 2

This is how I draw my brows, thick in height and horizontally flat to shorten my oblong face feature. My sister in law went together on 25 January 2015 with appointment at 5pm. I have been consulted where I should be doing Bonbrow which means they would embroidery the tint of color with result like drawn brows which is known as eBrow and lines that look like hair strands known as Ero. You could read further from their website, here.

Empro Bonbrow After

My brows was done by May, Senior Face Artist who I highly recommend and I will share with you the reason for it later in this post. I love the outcome right after, it looks so natural as though I drew it myself. When I got back to work on Monday, no one notices until I tell them about it.

The process…

Consultants will first share which type of service is more suitable and select the right category of artist who comes with different years of experience in doing such work art. After selecting, the artist will be drawing the brow shape desired until the customer fully satisfied and trim the brows accordingly. Once everything has been confirmed, the artist will bring to a special area of adjustable seats are at to proceed the embroidery. I did try to snap a photo when I have my embroidery done but May told me nicely I was not allowed to, therefore I stopped.

The feeling…

If you have not known, embroidery uses special blade to embed the dye onto the skin. Each blade used is new from sterilized pack and not to be shared with anyone. The dye comes with different shade and mine is Natural Brown.

The first question you would ask, “Wait…there’s blade? Does it bleed a lot?”. Yes it will bleed depending on your skin type as sensitive skin type are more prone to bleed. This needs to be shared with the artist for them to understand and to put their skills in the right manner.

“It’s a blade then how do they embroidery it onto the skin?” Different work art requires different technique to embed the dye in. As for me, I did Bonbrows, a combination of eBrow and Ero. For eBrow, the feeling is like having the blade to hook into the skin and for Ero, I could feel the blade cuts in short strokes. Definitely this technique is not to severely to injure anyone.

“The bleeding must have hurt so bad!”. This will depend on your pain endurance and if you know that you are not able to bare pain, you could share it with the artist. They will help you to apply a layer of cream which I believe maybe numbing cream. I did not go with the cream at all.

Empro Bonbrow Peeling

They do provide a recovery cream for me to apply every night for my skin to properly recover. This is how my brow looked like on the 4th day where my skin naturally peels and it is normal to undergo this stage as our skin renews. At this moment, it is not advisable to peel the scabs by yourself and do allow them to fall off on their own. After another 2 days, the peeling is all done for me.

Empro Bonbrow After Peeling

This is after a week from the embroidery where it is not as thick or dark as how it looks like from the start. Frankly speaking, this is too natural for my liking and I would prefer to have brows just like how it looks after the embroidery. I would also prefer to have much more straighter brows.

Empro Bonbrow Before & After

Here is a comparison of before and after, definitely it shows a beautiful difference. I do require more and this is not a complete brows yet as I am entitled with a complimentary one time touch up after a month. I will be visiting them again this month. I will definitely update, how it turns out for the touch up. With this ‘new’ brows I save tons of time for my makeup and I’m less worried on my brows disappearing act.

An incident…

We arrived five minutes before our appointment at 5pm and was consulted by the Face Artist. My sister in law proceeded with eBrow by May, Senior Face Artist. As for me, I was consulted half way by the Face Artist and she went to another customer who wanted to do Bonbrow. I seek for help from another consultant and she suggested me to do Bonbrow. Consultants are unable to provide embroidery service yet. Due to budget constraint, I wanted to go with Face Artist to do Bonbrow for me and she is occupied with a customer, therefore I waited. She is the only Face Artist in the outlet.

While waiting, there isn’t enough waiting seats, nobody asked if I would need any help or advice how long I should be waiting nor offering any drinks. I waited until 7pm in the outlet with several times of changing seats and glances with Empro staff and other customers until the Face Artist as well as my sister in law done with their embroidery. The Face Artist noticed my presence the whole duration I was there and never ask a word to follow up from me. May, the Senior Face Artist was surprised that I have not proceed any service yet and told the Face Artist that I am taking her service. They were speaking in Mandarin where my sister in law overheard, the Face Artist replied to May by saying “It’s already 7pm.” I believe it’s time for her to end her shift.

May offered her service, however, I shared my concern on my budget and her fees exceeds it. At the point of time, all services has 15% discount off. She made a quiet move by offering me 30% discount whereby her service of Bonbrow is MYR 880 and after discount would be MYR616, the best price she could offer to me.  This price is approximately MYR50 more expensive from the Face Artist discounted fee. I hesitated at first but after a few thoughts, I accepted to take up her service since I have already waited for 2 hours with unwillingness of the Face Artist to help me and I believe May was very sincere to help me. Therefore, I highly recommend May as she is friendly, patient and helpful. I do not have her photo for now, maybe I’ll grab a photo with her during my next visit for touch up.

 *Update on 12 February 2015

Empro’s International Marketing Manager contacted me via Facebook a day after this post was uploaded. He apologized for the incident happened where he will personally look into this matter. Also, this post has been shared to the owner and he offered a set of products to be sent to me.

I had rejected the set of products kindly because I’m not looking forward for free products to land in my hands. I just wanted to share my truthful experience and this will also help Empro to improve their services especially when they do take feedback seriously. I’m surprised that they contacted me the day after I uploaded this and I really appreciate their effort to reach out for me.

Review: Too Faced Bulletproof Brows, Stays On For At Least 9 Hours Without Fading Away

Who doesn’t want that lasting brow shape especially when you have sparse brows? At least I do, especially when my t-zone gets oily rather easily with this humid weather and not much brow products that I have tried to last as long as I wished. They hardly survive by the end of the day after numerous blotting. Too Faced Bulletproof Brows sounds convincing especially with the word ‘bulletproof’ which makes me think that it should be waterproof or smudge-proof for long good hours, perhaps 8 hours at least?

Too Faced Bulletproof Brows

‘This groundbreaking brow definer is a powder, gel, pencil and setting wax all-in-one cashmere clay formula. It’s the only brow product you’ll ever need. Bulletproof Brow includes a mirror and our dual-sided angled and spooley brush for precise application. In just 60 seconds, color locks down for 24-hour, waterproof, smudge-proof, budge-proof Bulletproof Brows!’

 Too Faced Bulletproof Brows Description

From the box, it has a hidden flip where descriptions are mentioned of it’s function and ways to use it. Through this description, you are able to tell that the kit should come with the jar and double ended brush.

Too Faced Bulletproof Brows Ingredients

I do notice from the ingredients listing, there is beeswax, silica and mica. Just a highlight but I do not have any problem with these ingredients at all. Great to know that there is no paraben in this product.

Too Faced Bulletproof Brows Inside

In the kit, you are able to find a jar and double ended brush. The jar is made of plastic and the size is similar to a standard single eye shadow. The brush is definitely synthetic, well made, soft and gentle at touch.

Too Faced Bulletproof Brows Universal Brunette

The shade that I have here is Universal Brunette which would be great for those who have dark hair and the camera just didn’t do the justice as the actual shade is no closer than in the photo. It is actually in dark brown with ash tones to it. Upon opening the lid of the jar, it has another lid to secure the product which I believe the purpose could be to prevent it from drying out.

Too Faced Bulletproof Brows Swatch

From the swatch, it shows much more of the actual shade. Through the swatch, I did notice that the product dries off quickly and may clump in between. The finishing feels powdery as though I used a pencil to draw it.

Too Faced Bulletproof Brows How To

Let me share how do I draw my brows with Too Faced Bulletproof Brows using the brush that was provided.

  1. Dip into the jar with the brush and outline under the brows according to the shape of the brows.
  2. Outline on the brow shape from the arch to the end.
  3. Outline on the brow shape from the beginning to the arch.
  4. Use the brush vertically and slowly fill in the brows as well as any gaps visible.
  5. Brush the brow hair in place and blend in.

Above all…

At first I was worried that if it could get clumpy all over my brows that I would definitely need to re-do it. I was very light handed when I start and it took me a few seconds just to get a hang of it. Because it dries off so quickly and sometimes gets clumpy, I do need to clean my brush in between application. It glides on smoothly and I would say it is pretty easy to use.

I would normally wear it for at least 9 hours and in between, I would definitely blot my face including my brows because they get oily too. When I got home, I was surprised that my brows was just like how I freshly applied them. They look just as polished, well groomed and the opacity stays. I then purposely rub it with my fingers and it came off which means as long as I don’t rub it, it will stay. When it comes to removing it, there wasn’t any problem after all and no brow hair falls off at all. This is my new found love for my brows!
