Lancome Artliner vs L’oreal Super Linear Black Lacquer

Here is a comparison of liquid eye liners. Its the battle between Lancome Artliner and L’oreal Super Liner Black Lacquer. I wanted to compare both of this eye liners after I have noticed that their applicators are very similar.  I have been using Lancome Artliner for months and L’oreal Super Liner Black Lacquer for 2 weeks. Let’s begin with their description.

Emphasize your eyes with this easy-to-handle, liquid pen featuring a uniquely shaped foam tip that lets you line, shape and define eyes to create any look you like. Rich, deep, luminous pigments offer the most intense, dramatic color. Glides on smoothly without scratching, tugging or skipping and lasts all day. – Lancome Artliner

L’Oréal Paris Superliner in Black Lacquer is a special sponge tipped pen, great for applying fine lines of eyeliner or thick sultry flicks! It automatically regulates the right amount of liner for a neat, even outline and long lasting intense colour. – L’Oreal

Lancome Artliner vs L'oreal Super Liner Black Lacquer - Applicator

Looking at both eye liner’s applicator on side by side, they look really similar. Lancome Artliner applicator is made of  foam and L’oreal Super Liner Black Lacquer is made of special sponge, which I reckon both may be the same material because they feel the same and the flexibility is the same. L’oreal Super Liner Black Lacquer’s applicator does physically looked much flimsy. Both are should be shaken before use.

Lancome Artliner vs L'oreal Super Liner Black Lacquer - Swatch

Lancome Artliner seems to be less pigmented and slightly streaky compared to L’oreal Super Liner Black Lacquer. Both are in black with slight gloss finish to it. L’oreal Super Liner Black Lacquer has that typical eye liner scent, much more stronger than Lancome Artliner but its not a big issue.

Lancome Artliner vs L'oreal Super Liner Black Lacquer - Before & After

Lancome Artliner

  • 8:54AM – Freshly applied, there’s a patch without eye liner. I believe my lash curler is the cause of it.
  • 3:45PM – Still remains the same as how it looks like when freshly applied.
  • 6:26PM – The winged out is slightly smudged.

L’oreal Super Liner Black Lacquer

  • 8:45AM – Freshly applied
  • 3:45PM – Looking still as good as freshly applied
  • 6:26PM – The eye liner still looking great without smudging

I love both eye liner because its easy to use but apparently Lancome Artliner smudges. During application, I need to dip into the tube more often for L’oreal Super Liner Black Lacquer because it dries easily once applied. When removing L’oreal Super Liner Black Lacquer, it comes of a strip like lash glue which is good that is doesn’t leave residue behind. Lancome Artliner is priced at MYR95 and I have purchased L’oreal Super Liner Black Lacquer MYR28.70 (retail price at MYR35.90). The best worth eye liner between two of these will be L’oreal Super Liner Black Lacquer because its purse friendly, last up to more than 10 hours, easy to remove and apply.

Review: Lancôme Génifique Yeux Light-Pearl Eye-Illuminating Youth Activator, First Eye Serum of 360° Eye Contour Transformation

‘Eye luminosity, the new visible sign of youth. The new 360° eye contour transformation.

Lancôme introduces its 1st eye-illuminating serum, engineered with a unique rotating and massaging applicator to reach even the most inaccessible eye areas. Experience a 360° eye contour transformation above and below the eyes for visible results. After 4 weeks of use, results show 78% of women thought that the eye contour was visibly improved.1

1Self assessments – consumer test – 4 weeks’ – Lancôme

It’s the Lancôme Génifique Yeux Light-Pearl Eye-Illuminating Youth Activator and the media launch was held early August 2012, you could read more here. Basically, this eye serum offers delicate and precise massaging on the eye contour area which helps to deflate the eye bags for smoother and more luminous eye area.

It comes with a new age applicator which is called Light-Pearl where it has 50º angle rotation which allows a high degree of suppleness during application. It’s made out of surgical stainless steal but incredibly soft and smooth chiselled with ceramic and porcelain polishers then smoothen with diamond powder.

This serum is meant to use before the eye cream in skin care regime and it also can be used over the makeup for instant relief of eye tiredness. Most of the time, I used it for only in my skin care regime and this is how I use the eye serum.

  • Step 1 – dab the serum on the undereye
  • Step 2 – massage the serum using the Light-Pearl in circular motions
  • Step 3 – using the Light-Pearl to press on pressure points. If you’re aren’t aware where are the pressure points, you could refer here.
  • Step 4 – use the Light-Pearl the massage upwards from the brow bone to ‘lift’
  • Step 5 – continue to dab with finger until its absorb

The basic application is to dab, massage and blend. You can definitely play around with the applicator for your best pleasure of massage in your own way. Massaging is very important in promoting blood circulation.

A very important step after application is to clean the Light-Pearl with tissue or facial cotton. It may sound troublesome but this is to remain the purity of the serum. Especially if using this serum over makeup, this step is crucial.

I have used it for a month and I love the instant refreshing effect from it. Pardon on the lightings of my photo due to the weather changes. Looking carefully on my inner corner under eye, the redness as reduced quite a bit until Week 4. I was having flu on the entire Week 4, the nasal congestion affected the results. I notice that my eye puffiness did reduce progressively and under eye did felt smoother.

Ingredients Listing:Water, Bifida Ferment Lysate, Propanediol, Glycerin, Alcohol Denat., Dimethicone, C13-14 Isoparaffin, Escin, Tocopheryl Acetate, Sodium Benzoate, Phenoxyethanol, Adenosine, Caffeine, Polyacrylamide, Chlorphenesin, Polymethylsilsesquioxane, Chlorella Vulgaris Extract, Salicyloyl Phytosphingosine, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Ammonium Polyacryldimethyltauramide / Ammonium Polyacryloyldimethyl Taurate, Dimethiconol, Pentaerythrityl Tetraethylhexanoate, Xanthan Gum, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Bis-Peg/Ppg-16/16 Peg/Ppg-16/16 Dimethicone, Bht, Laureth-7.

It is also contains no Paraben, Sulfates, Synthetic Fragrances, Synthetic Dyes, Phthalates, GMO and Triclosan.

I know I have repeated this but I’m going to say it again, I love the instant refreshing effect! It totally helps to waken up tired eyes. With the Light-Pearl, I massage my eye area more often than I used to which it is a good thing because I hardly do so with my eye cream. This acts as a booster to the eye cream, making it to work more effectively or can be use alone. I blame for my sickness that screwed up the results.

Illuminate Eyes in 360° with Lancôme Génifique Yeux Light-Pearl Eye-Illuminating Youth Activator

Our eyes are the window of our soul and if they are tired, you’ll look dull and restless. Makeup can only temporary to enhance your restless eyes but in terms of skin deep, don’t you want your eyes to be refreshed, brighter, glowing and youthful? Lancôme is bringing us to a new journey of eye contour makeover.

Reinventing eye contour care, Lancôme Génifique Yeux Light-Pearl Eye-Illuminating Youth Activator is a breakthrough of  360° treatment to illuminate eyes. It is not only offering anti-aging purposes but to restore the youthfulness of the eye area and by extension, the face.

Adding a new family to the Lancôme Génifique, here is the first eye serum, Lancôme Génifique Yeux Light-Pearl Eye-Illuminating Youth Activator.  The 10 signs of illuminating eyes is

  1. Uniformity of white of the eye
  2. Shine of the eye
  3. Openness of lids around the eye
  4. Position of the eyebrow tail
  5. Luminosity od eye brow arches
  6. Crow’s feet
  7. Fine lines under eye
  8. Dark circles
  9. Puffiness
  10. Eyelid skin condition

With this serum, we can have the illuminating eyes that we long for. The unique formula  is light and melts into the skin  instantly to release its powerful active ingredients. Caffeine, Escine and Micro-Algae Chlorella Vulgaris Extract are the ingredients that helps to improve eye puffiness, dark circles and areas of shadow.

The serum is formulated fragrance-free, definitely unscented to my concern. Also, featuring its applicator which goes along with this serum is a pearl-shaped applicator called Light-Pearl. This applicator a new age applicator for our eyes.

Unlike the classical dropper that we commonly see in serum bottles, the Light-Pearl applicator has a 50° rotation angle which allows a high degree of suppleness during application. It is made out of surgical stainless steel but incredibly soft and smooth chiselled with ceramic and porcelain polishers then smoothen with diamond powder.

Joselyn, Lancôme’s Education Manager demonstrated on how to apply using this serum along with Light-Pearl.

Here is a close up on what Joselyn had showed. Massaging using the right technique for your eye contour helps improve blood circulation and the skin texture around the eyes.

Zamri, Lancôme’s National Makeup Artist showed a 2 minute on-the-go application. The application involves

  1. Apply the serum and massage the product around the eye area
  2. Lightly powder the eye area
  3. Defining brows and eyes
  4. Perking the lashes with mascara

This serum can also be applied under and over the makeup. The Light-Pearl needs to be wiped after each use if using over the makeup or sharing to remain the purify of the serum as well as hygienic purposes.

Other than testing it out on your eye area, this serum is powerful enough to make a difference on our hands. Testing it out the skin in between the index finger and thumb using the same technique demonstrated by Joselyn.

Alan, Lancôme’s trainer was helpful to apply the serum for me to test it. Of course, I do have makeup on and please pardon the oil-slick face. I was so worried that my concealer will completely smudged off but take a look at the images. I look like as though, I had refreshed my makeup. The Light-Pearl applicator does glides on smoothly, no tugging and it feels good because its cool and refreshing. Best of all, it doesn’t feel tacky. In 7 days testimonials on 49 women on the eye contour,

  • Skin texture  improved: 71%
  • Skin seems fresher: 71%
  • Skin seems moisturized: 84%

This serum is yet to come, this is a sneak peak for you!Don’t forget to ‘Like’ Lancôme Facebook below to be notified with their latest updates.

An exceptional elixir exists. It contains up to 2 million Lancôme Rose native cells.

Extracted from the heart of the rare and resilient Lancôme Rose using an exclusive, state-of-the-art biotechnological process, these native cells are proven to extend their own exceptional properties to enhance skin’s regenerative potential*.

Each jar of Lancome Absolue L’Extrait contains up to 2 million of these precious native cells. Lancome Absolue L’Extrait helps reveal firmer, more elastic, more radiant skin for fascinating beauty.’ – Lancôme

I was introduced with Lancôme Absolue L’Extrait early last month and have the opportunity to try this luxury cream without the petal, read more about the cream here. This cream claims to:

  • Reduce 7 signs of aging (forehead lines, frown lines, crow’s feet, under eye wrinkles, nasobial fold wrinkles around the mouth, facial slackening)
  • Adding the level of luminosity to skin (42% increase after 4 weeks, up to 55% increase after 11 weeks)
  • Evaluated facial expression to be more rested, peaceful, pleasant and beaming appearance
  • The number of dermaspheres increases by 63% after 10 days of culturing.

It comes in an iconic jar, black and gold with absolute elegance expressing the boldness and the power of this ultimate cream. It also comes with an extra lid  to preserve the purity of the cream.

I was sceptical since this cream is rich and thick in texture but I really love the scent. Since it has Lancôme Rose in it, the cream does smells like dried rose. So calming and soothing, goes well with your sleep at night.

As for me, my oily skin has transform to combination and I just need half a pea-sized of the cream for my entire face (including my eye area) plus neck. I’m using my own spatula since I don’t have the petal. After blending in, it does feel a little oily but as I go on massaging the cream onto my skin, it became less oily. Noticeable instant result is my skin has been re-hydrated by the cream.

I have used this for more than a month now and here is the progress weekly.

  • Week 1 – I only use it at night because I reckon it might be too rich for my skin. This might be exaggerating but I felt that my skin sebum production is regulated, cheeks are hydrated and t-zone not as oily.
  • Week 2 – I did get extraction at a free facial salon (it was freaking painful) and left me with noticeable red spots all over my face but I’m not keen to go for any follow up because its expensive plus the pain just makes me tearing all the way. I would say the cream is quite a healer because less sensitive around the cheek to chin area and it calms down the redness pretty fast. I started to use day and night.
  • Week 3 – Many of the red spots are much gone except for the stubborn ones on the right of my forehead. I broke out on my right in between the eye and nose area. I also notice after using this cream, my breakout is not as often any more. I used to break out every few days and now, once a week.
  • Week 4 – Even the stubborn spots are fading slowly on my right forehead. My skin seems to be much more healthier, plumped and glowing, not as dull and brighten.

Here is the close up of the 4 weeks progress. I love to see that it has significant results where my spots are much lighter gradually.

Here is a comparison before I started using and after a month of using the cream. There is no drastic change but noticeable results.

Though the texture is rich for my skin type, my skin looks well-hydrated even after I applied my mattifying sun block. I was afraid that it could cause more breakout especially the eye area but I’m surprised that it didn’t. The skin from my cheeks to chin are is rather sensitive, didn’t notice until my consultation at the facial salon. After the extraction, my skin did calm down and I think this cream has maintain the calmness of my skin because I’m no longer experiencing as much redness and itchiness on the area.

I do have slight fine lines on my under eye and I didn’t really notice much changes. I don’t have saggy or wrinkly skin but  preventing is better than cure. This cream has improved my skin glowy-ness, less dull and brighten. I’m really surprised that it helped to regulate my sebum production. Its not that my skin is no longer oily but its lesser. The best thing about the cream is the scent of Lancome Rose, I freaking ♥ it! If you’re scent-sensivite, you might want to skip this cream because my Lover could smell it when he is 3 feet away from me but he likes it too. This luxury cream is expensive but its explained with the science behind it.
