Fractional CO2 Laser, Before and After 3 Sessions Comparison

It has been more than 2 weeks after my last visit for my Fractional CO2 Laser. This would be the best time to make a comparison for those who wondered how well this treatment has done for me. If you haven’t know, I have undergone 3 sessions of Fractional CO2 Laser with the expectation of improving depressed scars in Mediviron UOA Clinic. You can read here, session 1, 2 and 3.

Fractional CO2 Laser After 3 Treatments - Face

Here is a comparison of after each treatment where my skin has already recovered from the down time. It took me a week to fully recover and for all the scabs fall off by itself. For my overall face, it does improve my skin texture. My skin did felt smoother and blackheads are much lesser too.

Fractional CO2 Laser After 3 Treatments - Nose Area

Please bare with my unflattering big nose. Because I am aiming for improving depressed scars, I’m more particular on my nose area. There is a significant improvement  to the depressed scars as pointed by the little arrows after each treatment. However, the improvement is not as dramatic and they are still visible. I was told that 3 sessions wouldn’t be able to totally resurface my skin entirely.

Fractional CO2 Laser After 3 Treatments - Before After Nose

While I have just compared photos of after every treatment, I would like to share with you the before and after. The ‘before’ is where my skin hasn’t been treated with the laser and ‘after’ is after undergoing 3 sessions of the laser.  I could tell there is a difference, those scars are less deeper now.

Fractional CO2 Laser After 3 Treatments - Before After Face

Here is also a comparison of before and after 3 treatments of laser. My skin looks more radiant now as to compare before doing laser. Most significant improvement is also acne scar marks faded well.

Considering that I have witness the improvement by comparing the photos and also compliments from my friends and family, I might consider to continue doing Fractional CO2 Laser according to my affordability. This is first time for me to undergone aesthetic treatment and not regretting it.

Aesthetic treatments are slowly gaining their popularity in Malaysia but people are still doubting the effectiveness and its safety. I would say as long as you do your research on the clinic and doctor, as well as reviews, it shall be fine. For aesthetic treatments, I would recommend going to recognized clinics and have doctors to run the treatment for you.  I’m one proof for you on the effectiveness of Fractional CO2 Laser although it doesn’t show drastic changes because it depends on your skin recovery. You can always drop me any questions about it through the comment section below or drop me an email through my contact if you prefer to discuss in private. I’ll be happy to explain further to you because I understand that everyone deserves to be beautiful and there’s always room for improvement.

Mediviron UOA Clinic Sets Its Eye On Vietnam Tourist, Making Aesthetic Treatments Accessible Conveniently & Safe - Q&A

After the signing, there was a Q&A session with Dr Chen and Mr Adams opened for the media.

1. How long has this collaboration being planned in the timeline?

At approximately for 2 – 3 years

2. Why Malaysia?

They would like to re-channel it to Malaysia as to do something different and unique. Also to focus what’s available here and to increase the amount as there is an increment of medical tourism to 20%.

3. What is the target from Vietnam?

Of course, as much as possible. Currently, Mediviron UOA Clinic have 50% patients from Malaysia and the rest of 50% are from Europe, Iran and Singapore, not many Vietnamese are coming yet. They would like to be the first to tap into the market.

4. What is the procedure price ranging at?

They are ranging from MYR100 – MYR 22,000 depending on the which treatment to undergo and they are non invasive and non surgical treatments.

5. How much revenue growth are you expecting from this collaboration?

Mediviron UOA Clinic is looking at least 10 – 20% growth from the current revenue if possible.

6. Do you have any visiting surgeons or any attachments from Vietnam to consult the procedures?

Mediviron UOA Clinic do not have this as we are focusing to have Vietnamese tourist to come to our clinic to have their treatment done. Maybe there might be a need in the future that Mediviron UOZ Clinic might need someone from Vietnam to refer  to for someone to come to Malaysia for treatments.

7. What happened when patients face complications?

Our treatments are mainly non-invasive,  there is a minimal risk. Mediviron UOA Clinic do not do surgery and the recovery  period will be less than a week . We have no worries of anticipating major complications. We encourage our patients if they have any problems to visit them again or if they are away or overseas, they could call or email us.

We will also get a specific recovery time from Mediviron UOA Clinic and we would strongly recommend that they stay in Malaysia during that recovery time and they do not leave until they pay their final visit to the clinic to confirm their viable health.

8. How much cheaper are the rates  here as to compare with Vietnam?

Take for example of Botox in Vietnam, they are priced at USD900, that’s every expensive. They can fly here and have the treatment done in Malaysia for that price. The reason behind it is because that they have very heavy taz and they are considered to be luxury items. Botox and fillers are considered luxury items that they have high tax. A lot of pharmaceutical  comes in with no tax on it but those items are heavily taxed.

9. Do you have any plans to collaborate with other countries after Vietnam?

In Mediviron UOA Clinic, we have a a good number of patients comes from other countries such as Europe, America, Middle East and our neighbouring country, Singapore because our treatments are still cheaper after the conversion of currency.  The starting stage is Vietnam tourism and from there we will see and decide.

Also, we would like to get possibly Mongolia becuse projections for that country within the next decade is that the disposable income  per person is going to be rapidly high and they will be looking for places to visit. They have already travelling into Vietnam and Malaysia too, we believe they could be interested to come here for medical procedures as well.

10. What is your percentage of Malaysian women or men that comes for the treatment at Mediviron UOA Clinic?

There is no statistics in Malaysia on how many had come to various clinic or how many procedures is done because our government does not compile it.. There is no centre which compiles the data, we will only know how many patients to their procedure in our clinic but for other clinics, we will not be able to access to their database and there is no database available in the country but what we do know is that the numbers are increasing because the numbers of patients we are getting is increasing. Nowadays, we have more men coming in for procedures too. We have approximately 70% of our patients are ladies , 30% are men and their age ranges from 18 to 70s.

After the Q&A session, everyone including the members of media was ushered to have their lunch. For further updates of Mediviron UOA Clinic, please do give them a like below in their Facebook.

My Third Fractional CO2 Laser, Redder & Longer Downtime

Through my journey of undergoing Fractional CO2 Laser treatment, some of you have asked how the treatment was and have my skin improve from the treatment. I would say my skin did improve and I have received compliments that my complexion looks better now.  Precisely, my BF’s uncle who mentioned it out of blue when we were speaking of lifestyle and health. The comments just didn’t stop there because it also comes from Facebook and Instagram where friends and readers noticed my skin has been improving. With this, I’m sharing my third treatment experience last Saturday after 3 weeks from my second treatment. You can also tap into my previous treatment experience, first and second treatment.

Fractional CO2 Laser

As for my third treatment, it is similar to what was done on my second treatment where subcision was involved and laser comes after. Because Dr Lashela did mention that she will set to an even stronger beam, the beautician had applied numbing cream for me twice as to a stronger numbing effect too. During the subcision, I did felt a little pain as doctor injected it under my depressed scars around my nose and cheek area, it is literally slightly more painful than the laser. Since the numbing cream has been doubled the application, I couldn’t feel any pain from the laser at all. Do bare in mind that the subcision and Fractional CO2 Laser are priced differently.

Fractional CO2 - After Treatment

This is me after my treatment and yes, my face was as red as a monkey’s butt. Just like how doctor mentioned, as the beam goes stronger the downtime will be longer too which I didn’t mind at all. The down time for my second treatment took about a week slightly faster than the first, maybe because I have started on Retin-A cream which actually helps in healing and build collagen. You can see also some scabs on my nose on the after photo which was the result from the subcision. This time doctor didn’t give me any jabs to reduce the reddening like how she did on my second treatment but I’m fine with it as I decided to rest at home after the treatment.

Fractional CO2 Laser - After 2 Treatments

Since I have already done a few treatments, I wanted to share a comparison on my overall face skin texture improvement. I tell you nothing but the truth, look at the photos and you can tell that my skin became smoother gradually.

Fractional CO2 Laser - After 2 Treatments Close Up

Here’s a close up and if you look closely, the depressed scars on the side of my nose is improving too. I would like to add on to this that the size of the blackheads that was extracted off from my face are getting much smaller. I’d like to think that pore size not only shrunk by the skin surface but deep within my skin, it has shrunk. This is a good news as to my pores is no longer allowing the dirt and sebum to further clog as much as before.

Fractional CO2 Laser - Nose Area After 2 Treatments

As I did mentioned from my first treatment, I was looking out to improve my depressed scars and I have a lot of them particularly on my nose area. Here is close up comparison on my nose area, please excuse my big nose 🙁 . With the tiny arrows pointing at the scars, you can actually see that they are improving gradually after each treatment. They are either less deep or the scar size has shrunk. I will further show you the difference again after my downtime of my third treatment is over.

Previously, I was unhappy with their arrangement on my second visit for the treatment as mentioned in my previous post. I have showed my concern to Mediviron UOA Clinic and I see improvement this time! Everything was arranged as accordingly just like how it was for my first treatment with lesser waiting time. I’m thankful that they have taken my feedback into consideration as I believe this will not only cater for me but also for their future potential customers.
