Review: RIMMEL 60 Seconds Flash Nail Polish

Description:

“60 second quick dry nail polisth, 1 second application. With the Xpress brush™ for 1 second application, dries in less than 60 seconds and picture perfect nail colour in a flash!”

Product has been provided via Yuberactive and the shade given is 430 Coralicious.

When I come across this nail polish, I thought it look familiar… oh yeah, it’s similar to Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Fast Dry Nail Color! Again, really for the one coat and dries in a minute?  Hrmph…  *thinking smile*

The Xpress brush™ comes with rounded corners. I really like it so much because this application is extremely less messy. I always get messy when it comes to the side of my nails and this has help to lessen the damage.

This is the freshly painted nails, see how tidy my nail colors can be. It’s the least over-painted of all my self-painted nails. It is true that all you need is just one coat, its quite opaque and gets dry by a minute but it dries just by the surface. You would still want to be careful not to get scratches on your nails. Since it provides such great shine effect, I skipped applying top coat. I blame the lazy me for not applying it because it stained my paperwork whenever my nails brushes against the papers. It looked like lines drawn with pencil colors!

Without top coat the nail polish didn’t last so well, these are my nails after 4 days. It wears off pretty fast than I expected. Oh well I guess part of it, its because it has been contributing on my paperwork. The glossiness wears off by a day too.

I re-painted my nails again and this time I have my top coat on. It turned out to be super shiny! Love it so much!!! The nail polish last so much longer this time, approximately a week.  I love its speedy gonzales drying function, I don’t really have much patience in waiting for them to dry.

This is definitely affordable, it’s only MYR 11.90 and available in Watsons and Guardian local drugstore. I think I will grab more of these.

PROs:

  • Less messy application with Xpress brush™
  • 1 minute drying
  • Quite opaque
  • Super shiny with top coat
  • Last longer with top coat
  • Affordable

CONs:

  • Wears off quickly without top coat
  • Stains paperwork without top coat

My rating: 4/5

Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick in Pink Blush Review

Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick promises to provide up to 8 hours staying power. With their new improved formula of Color Protect technology gives 25% more color impact and enriched with 50% longer wearing color-boost pigments becomes the head of attention wherever you go.

I received this lipstick for review purposes upon becoming the member of Yuberactive. The lipstick looks more elegant than I thought it used to be and this is the improved version of the previous lasting finish lipstick. Let’s compare to see what’s the difference with the old one.

The shade provided is Pink Blush and if you look from the image on the left, the shade looks really sweet! I always love the candy smell of Rimmel London’s lipstick and they never fail on it but I’m sure not everybody will be liking the smell of it.

On the right is the old version of the lipstick. Physically, you can see the logo embedded on the new lipstick is is much deeper, making it look more clearer. Secondly, the new lipstick added silver rim in the middle making it look more elegant. Third, the old lipstick packaging is fat and shorter than the new one.

I think the shade might be a little too cold for me though seeing it from the swatch makes it look so sweet and might suit everyone. My skin is suitable to carry more on warmer shades. It’s a creme lipstick, it finishes with a slight gloss. Nothing too sparkly or matte. You can say the shade is like barbie-pink or pop art pink.

I find the lipstick glides smoothly onto my lips, easier than I thought it was. The old version application wasn’t as smooth as this one and I really like how the pigmented the lipstick is and it’s the color intensity is definitely stronger than the old one!

If you see my before and after image, the lipstick shade looked so pretty on my lips.  The shade just made my lips looking more pouty and it color shows up pretty even onto my lips. It’s really moisturizing because I wore it for about two to three hours and it did not dry up my lips at all. The old version dried my lips.

This is how I looked with the lipstick. Please bare with that messy hair and that dull face (no makeup). The lipstick shade wash me out, making me looking pale and dull. Maybe if I wear some heavy eye makeup, it could look better because this shade just gives the ‘pop’ but I don’t think this is my shade after-all. Since this isn’t my shade, I didn’t wear it outside at all. I was just trying it at home only, therefore I can’t really tell if it could last up to 8 hours. Don’t get me wrong, I do think that this is a good lipstick and it can be suitable for everyday look. You just have to pick the right shade for yourself.

This lipstick is available in many local drugstores in Malaysia including selected departmental store at the retail price of RM21.90. Definitely affordable.

PROs:

  • Easy glide application
  • Greater pigmentation
  • Moisturizing
  • New elegant packaging
  • Candy-like smell
  • Creme texture
  • Affordable

CONs:

  • Unsuitable shade

My rating: 4/5

p/s: I was given only about a week to come out with this review which I think it’s pretty short. When I received it, it includes a letter of instruction and reminder of the due date. I really take this seriously because I’m aware of the terms and condition. I have two products to review and have both due dates are the same. Yesterday I received an email of reminder on the due date which I really appreciate. Today I received a call reminding me again and it’s starts to annoy me because the caller didn’t sound like she’s questioning or reminding at first. The due date for my review is tomorrow.

Rimmel London Gentle Eye Make Up Remover Review

Description:

Gently removes all eye make up, including long lasting and waterproof make up. No oily residue. Suitable for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers. Dermatologically and Ophthalmologically tested.

I was browsing around Watsons for some budget makeup remover and I found Rimmel London Gentle Eye Make Up Remover. It was for only RM15+ in a clear bottle of 125ml.

I like this type of nozzle because this would prevent spillage especially when you’re first time user. Another credit for this since it would prevent spillage, it helps you to save some too.

The makeup remover doesn’t have any smell and it’s in a clear liquid. Almost felt exactly like water. What I realize from this is it’s better to dispense less than more because when it’s too much, it gets into the eye and it gives some swell feeling to your eyes but you can’t see it physically. Don’t worry I didn’t get any irritation or red eye from it, after a few minutes my eye felt like normal. Let’s run the test!

This is before using the makeup remover. The eyeliner is in water-proof formula.

With one swipe (left):

I just apply the facial cotton with the makeup remover on my eye and leave it for 5 seconds and gently swipe it. You can actually see that almost all of the eyeshadow vanished and left with some eyeliner and mascara residue.

After a few more swipes (right):

Almost all of the eye makeup is gone by now but I wouldn’t say it’s 100% because there is still mascara leftover if you see carefully. After a few blinks and/or result in rubbing my eyes, I do get some mascara shadow on my under eye. I do like that it doesn’t feel dry, like I said earlier it felt just like water! You can actually feel as though water is remove the makeup. It doesn’t feel oily at all, me likey!

Result on the facial cotton after removing all my eye makeup on one side. I think it depends on how heavy your eye makeup is but with the eye makeup I’ve shown above, I only use one facial cotton for both eyes.

Since it’s gentle enough for eyes, I also use it on lips and it works pretty well with lipstick and lip gloss. Just need to work a little harder with lip liners. Sometimes I even use it on my face.

Here are the ingredients listing and I think there wasn’t any alcohol? It’s made in Monaco and it could last for 12 months upon opening. I could say I’m pretty happy with the product although I need to work out for a bit on removing the mascara. I think I’ve used it for about 3-4 months on daily basis, mostly around eye area.

PROs:

  • Suitable nozzle to prevent spillage
  • Colorless/Clear liquid
  • No smells
  • Hydrating
  • Non greasy/oily
  • Works on lips and face
  • Long life-span of product
  • One bottle last for quite a long time
  • Cheap
  • No irritation or stinging

CONs:

  • Tough to remove mascara
  • Too much of the product make eyes felt as though it’s swells

My rating: 4/5
