‘Guerlain and Emilio Pucci are joining forces to celebrate a glamorous and colorful summer.’ – Guerlain

Just last week, Guerlain held a cozy session with the bloggers featuring Maxime Poulin and check it here if you haven’t. Along with the session, this collection was displayed and I was all over it to ponder how beautiful this collection is. I  managed to swatched for a bit. Before we look into the collection, let’s see what Laudomia Pucci and Oliver Échaudemaison has to say in creating this collection.

Let’s look into their collection!

Guerlain and Emilio Pucci collaborates in creating Guerlain Terra Azzurra Collection inspired by Italy’s summertime.  This collection has been exclusively recolored with its signature print of a blue flower interlaced with swirls and flames adding joyful and elegant Pucci touch. When beauty and fashion comes together, here combines Guerlain’s legendary Terrocota powder and Emilio Pucci’s iconic prints for this collection.

Guerlain Terracotta POP Polishes

‘Two bold, fresh shades that stand out against a sky blue background. Irresistible on short, groomed nails and worn unmatching hands and feet, these prepp polishes are a must-have fashion touch to compliment  two-piece swimsuit or an ethereal cocktail dress’ – Guerlain

It comes in two shades which is

  1. 01 Paradisio – a cheery, luminious coral pink with a high-lacquer finish. Unfailingly sublime on tanned fingers.
  2. 02 Riviera – a powerful electric indigo blue with a subtly metallic finish. Pure rock ‘n’ roll on golden toes.

I didn’t get to swatch these nail polishes because my nails are painted. However, these nail polishes are not available in Malaysia.

Ecrin 4 Couleurs

‘A blazing palette in delectably warm tones, whose four shades allow a host of combinations, from the softest to the hottest, to play with colour and electrify the eyes against golden skin.’ – Guerlain

There are four colors in this eye shadow palette with more of coral shades to go with. On the swatches from left to right:

  • White – shimmery finish, great to work as highlight
  • Pink – matte and creamy texture
  • Coral – sheer with tiny glitter finish
  • Dark  brown – highly pigmented and matte finish, great for redefining eyes and contour

It comes with metallic brown case, available for MYR193.00

Terracotta Khôl Kajal

‘An instrument of seduction par excellence, this intense kohl is returning for summer in an indigo blue.’ – Guerlain

I totally forgot to swatch this but this could work as an eye base or eye liner. Its not your typical black khol kajal but this is in indigo shades bringing out more blue tones, available for MYR121.00.

Terra Azzurra Bronzing Powder & Blush

‘ Halfway beterrn a bronzer and blusher, this hybrid powder with a gentle, lightweight formula offers a universal harmony of four shades to meet every desire, from the softest to the most intense.’ – Guerlain

On the swatch from left to right:

  • Brown – matte bronzing shade which has light yellow undertone, looks slightly copper-ish
  • Coral – gives a beautiful sun kissed look
  • Pink – matte and creamy finish
  • White – light shimmery finish

This is the star product of the entire collection. It comes with a pouch and the case for it is an ebony-colored varnished birch wood. It is available for MYR294.00.

Météorites Perles D’Azur

‘Formulated like the classic Météorites Perles, the Perles d’Azur beautifully adape to the demands of the sun. The idea? Three targeted and instant benefits to create a summer glow, thanks to the combination of six color that even out and correct every skin tone, with a de rigeur ultra-luminous and delicately translucent result. Already tanned skin is subtly set off with a fine complexion-enhancing and imperceptible veil.’ – Guerlain

This is a complexion booster where it helps to different shades that helps to correct skin tone and light reflector to give the skin that healthy natural glow.  This comes with a kabuki style brush and this powder finish off with tiny glitters. I forgot to snap a photo on the swatch and according to Maxime though it finish off glittery on hand swatches but its translucent over the face. This is available for MYR189.00.

Terracotta Gloss

‘Three sunny harmonies for these radiant glosses with a fresh gourmand syrup texture to light up the lips with sensual high shine.’ – Guerlain

On the swatches, left to right:

  • 10 Porto Fino – an incredibly shiny coral pink to set off a sun-kissed glow to perfection
  • 11 Porto Ercole – a sensual brown to pair with a spice -toned complexion
  • 12 Porto Azzurro – an unruly indigo blue, as transparent on the lips as it is vibrant in the bottle

Porto Fino and Ercole is incredibly pigmented while Porto Azzurro is sheer although it seems incredibly pigmented from the tube. For those who hasn’t come across blue tones lip glosses, they will be reluctant to try Porto Azzuro. Here’s a trick top it off on top of your lip color just do good, the blue tone also helps to make your teeth appear whiter. It is available for MYR95.00.

This season, it is embracing summer with this elegant blue that opens up the eyes and offers the lashes bold length and curl and incredible definition.’ – Guerlain

I did took a photo of this but it has gone missing. This is one of the most stylish mascara I ever seen. Its a dual ended mascara where one side is for upper lashes and another comes in a smaller bristles for lower lashes. This mascara is available for MYR124.00.

Guerlain Bloggers Get Together with Maxime Poulin

The story of Maxime Poulin with Guerlain is very interesting which made me so eager to meet him. He’s Guerlain’s International Makeup Artist, an inspiration for me to go further to enhance more of my makeup skills and I wish one day I could be like him, a true makeup artist. Want to know more about him? Check out Corinne of Junipers Journal’s interview with him, here. Along with this cozy session in Alexis Bar at The Gardens, we are not only be able to meet Maxime but to know more of the Terra Azzurra by Emilio Pucci Collection.

The session begin with Karen Tan, the Product Manager telling us the story of Guerlain. It is pronounced as ‘Gey-lan’, they have been around for almost 200 years now and Guerlain started as perfume business founded by the creator, Pierre François Pascal Guerlain in 1828. There was a video preview for us, I tried recording it but it turned out blur. Sorry!

Guerlain and Emilio Pucci collaborates in creating Terra Azzurra Collection inspired by Italy’s summertime.

Maxime shared with us the importance of taking care of skin, makeup application techniques  and his experience as a makeup artist. For each product that he used on this demonstration, he explained the key ingredients that helps to nourish and benefit the skin as well as to the details of the tools that comes along with product if there’s any. He also stressed that Guerlain’s products are paraban-free which is safe for every skin to use.  He is very friendly with great sense of humor which made this session so informational yet hilarious.

After the demonstration, there was a Q&A session with Maxime. One of the bloggers pop the question of the life span of Guerlain’s products since it is paraben-free. Maxime explains depending on which product because each product has different length of lifespan. It is advisable to check on the product where its printed on.

It was a great opportunity to have a short chat with Maxime and here were some of my questions,

What are the latest trends for summer makeup?

Summer is all about the bright colors, just like what you’re wearing now (I have bright mint eyeliner with chiffon mint top). Your eyeliner is very trendy this season. The bright colors are refreshing and we want to play with colors yet giving that sun kissed glow with coral shades.

Noticed that this collection has some glitters, its not favorouble for combination to oily skin. How do we go around with this?

When you apply it to test it on your hand, the glitter may seem too much for you but these glitters are less visible when you apply it on your face. It helps to give you the radiance that every skin should have. I understand that with this skin type, you want to keep the skin matte at all times but to a certain extend you need that glow in you and this makeup will help you to achieve it. Most importantly is to always apply primer to prep your skin first.

In this collection there is khol kajal, just out of curiosity why kajal are mostly cone-shaped?

The origins of Kajal are from the Egypt, have you notice that Egyptians have strong bold eyeliners around their eyes?  They have been shaped like so for thousands years ago and up until today we keep its shape that way. They are so pigmented and easy to use.

Could you share with us what is the upcoming trend?

Next will be the Fall season, there will be corals and neutral colors such as browns. That’s with the colors but we will concentrate more of the face complexion where radiance and luminosity plays an important role.  We want to flatter the skin more and of course it has to begin with great skin too. Wait a minute.. this is suppose to be a secret!

Did we learn something new? I sure did! Stay tuned for the next post as I will be updating more of the Terra Azzurra by Emilio Pucci Collection with swatches.
