University, Work and Friends

I begin to feel the stress of all these. It’s been the third week being like this and I think I’m going to fall apart. Every time when I get back to class, I can’t even catch what my lecturer was teaching but I’m trying my best to do it. On some other times, I almost fall asleep in the class because I have no idea what is the lecturer talking about and I didn’t do my readings at all. Last week I had to work about 20 hours, and I was deciding whether I should cut down the hours because I haven’t had much time to do my studies, research and homework. The thing which kept bothering me is the amount of money that I could earn because I’m trying to support myself but I don’t want to fail any of my subject for my last semester. I often miss outings with my friends on Friday and Saturday nights which I felt pretty left out but I’m getting used to it.

Yesterday, I had to do my One-Minute Pitch Presentation and was struggling to squeeze as much information as possible. One minute is never enough after all. The day before yesterday, I have class at 9:30a.m. till 10:30a.m., went to Flipps at 12:00p.m. till 3:00p.m. and had to go to class at 5:30 p.m. till 7:30p.m. That’s my hardworking day. I’m not complaining but it keeps me going on for the day. At night I had to prepare my report for the Pitch presentation, practice my speech with the timer and finally went to bed at 2:00a.m. My tutorial is at 8:30a.m., where I actually planned to wake up at 6:30a.m. but I didn’t quite make it because I was exhausted and slept till 8:00 a.m. I wasn’t late for the tutorial at all anyways. One thing I hated when I was presenting is the interruptions of latecomers. I only have one minute to pitch and the latecomers knocking the door, trying to get, and it was really distracting! How annoying!

Anyways, I have received a new roster from my boss where my hours have been reduced to 17 hours a week which I’m really happy about it. Before this I was ranting for not getting many hours but now I’m happy. I didn’t need to confront my boss or maybe he figured that I shouldn’t work so much especially I’m studying. It’s all good now. I used to go to work on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday but I didn’t have to go for Thursday anymore. Yay!
