L.A. Colors Auto Eyeliner in Navy Review

This would the last piece of L.A. Colors review from Vonnie’s contest. This eyeliner has the same height and physically externally with the auto lip liner, retractable as well. Very convenient, no sharpening involved. Navy shade is a metallic blue shade. It’s a little brighter than the shade strip at the bottom of the liner.

This is a very pigmented eyeliner if you look at the swatch.. I quite like it at first because it glide effortlessly on my eyelids even to do the wing-out effect. I don’t need to worry tugging my eyelids. However, after a few hours it smudges on my crease line. Not too much, just a shadow of it. I don’t think I’ll use it as eyeliner anymore. I’ll treat it to work as an eyeshadow base or cream eyeshadow, just like how I did in my Midnight Twinkle Tutorial. For as long as I’ve used it, it doesn’t irritate my skin at all.

Convenient – no sharpening
Easy glide
Multi-purpose – eyeshadow base or cream eyeshadow
Doesn’t irritate

My rating: 4/5

  1. aih speaking of auto liners
    my revlon liner harden suddenly
i didnt use it for quite some time already
now its tugging and the effect isnt smooth either 🙁
    so expensive samo. grrr

  2. I have a hard time with eyeliners. I prefered liquid because it help better & pencil liners were hard & didnt work. I love Sephora’s gel liners. I got 3 (black, gray & bronze) for $35 because it was a set. That was when I had money to spare so I make sure to make them last. LOL. A little goes along way though. It works as a liner & shadow. http://sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P62612&shouldPaginate=true&categoryId=3865 that’s the link for the regular sized ones. I like the different colors. As soon as I get a better & steady job, I’m going on a haul! LOL

The only hitch with gel liners is it can sometimes stay TOO well, so you have to have patiences & a good eye makeup remover to get it off. It doesnt smudge for anything.

  3. Love the way you winged your line. Mine always comes out wonky on one eye. Grr.

This seems comparable to the auto-eyeliner I am currently using (and loving) from Prestige. Doesn’t smudge and draws a beautiful line. Doubt that I can use it as an e/s base though. Hmm. Now that’s food for thought…

  4. @LyNn – suddenly? Has it been long or exposed to sunlight? Your can always try soften it back using hairdryer.

@Shinbi_Belldandy – Same here, I prefer liquid but not everyone able to master steady hands to apply. Some prefer to use gel. I’m getting my hands on gel liners soon. Sephora’s stuff is too expensive for me~ and we don’t have it here but Singapore has the store itself. Not all brands available.

@Eli – Thanks dear. Haha, is it reallt that good? This is smooth and creamy. that’s why taking it as e/s base.

  5. @voguefemme – Dang! Sephora wont even ship over there?! That sucks! Dont you hate when a brand will advertise where you live but they dont even sell the stuff there?! Gosh!! And yeah. Sephora is pricey, that’s why I only go when the money is flowing. That primer I want is $36 so I’m working towards that! Maybe by fall…

Let me know what you have there! I feel bad recommending stuff & you cant get it. =(

  6. @Shinbi_Belldandy – Yeah, many things is always not available in Malaysia. Since Sephora can be pricey, imagine it arriving in Malaysia (with our currency value so much lower) it could be a high end products here. It’s alright recommending it. I can always look around online.
