I came across about Vanity Trove when it is still available in Singapore. It hit the shores a while back and they are sending their warm hellos to many of us now including you. They are now available in Southeast Asia including Thailand, Taiwan and Indonesia catering to their local beauty cravings.
If you haven’t know about Vanity Trove, they are beauty box subscription where they bring you surprises every month with varies beauty brands of 6-8 deluxe sized samples and their subscription fee is MYR60 per month. The concept of beauty box subscription is you get to test the product before purchasing the actual product. The package arrived to me safely and I’m impressed that they seal the box with vacuum pack too. Their box is sturdy with a loop of pink ribbon on the side where you can pull it and the box slides out.
Here is the Vanity Trove February 2013! I actually posted a sneak peek in my Instagram (here) before going through the box thoroughly. Tons of goodies in there and what attracted me the most is the vintage-like box in the middle. Brochure, voucher, product listing card and a greeting card included. Let’s go through every items and I will also include the full price of each item!
Benefit The POREfessional
Minimize the appearance of pores and fine lines with this smooth operator. Silky and light weight, wear the POREfessional balm on its own or under or on top of makeup. Its translucent, oil-free formula complements different skin tones and helps makeup stay put. It contains Vitamin E derivative, known to protect the skin from free radicals.
One of the highly raved primer and I tried this before. Its definitely light weight, pores are slightly less visible and blends easily. The only thing I wish more of what this balm does is to have oil control properties.
Price: MYR 115 (22ml)
b.liv by Cellnique Off With Those Heads Blackhead Sebum Gel
Remove white heads and blackheads gently effectively with Off With Those Heads Blackhead Sebum Gel! This wonder gel also keeps oil secretions under control and banishes all kinds of skin irritations.
This is also highly raved skincare especially in Asia, personally I have not tried it yet. I get to know about this when I was in college and never purchased one because I couldn’t afford it at that time. I could still remember back then it was in their old packaging and they re-packaged the design in this recent years. Now I get to try it and I hope it works to clean off those gunks on my skin!
Price: MYR 139 (30ml), MYR 179.90 (45ml)
Di Palomo Tuscan Rose Hand & Body Lotion
Apply the Tuscan Rose Hand & Body Lotion blended with moisturising olive and sweet almond oils after your shower for soft, smooth and nourished skin.
I finally found the reason why the entire box of Vanity Trove smelt so good. This is it! It does have a strong musky rose scent to it when first applied followed with slight refreshing scent of citrus. If you are scent sensitive, this might not be for you. I reckon this can also be a replacement of your perfume too. The lotion texture is not very thick, hydrates skin and doesn’t leave any sticky residue.
Price: MYR69 (250ml)
Merci Petits
I was so sceptical about this ‘product’ thinking it could possibly be something like a blusher, foundation or loose powder. It turns out to be Merci Petit chocolates and there’s two of them. I couldn’t hesitate to take a bite, its milk chocolate without being oily. Some milk chocolate tend to be really oily and at the end I ate all of them. I’m a chocolate fan!
Oriks Wild Ginseng Stemcell Twister Essence
Soft and velvety, the Wild Ginseng Stemcell Twister Essence reduces visible pores while hydrating and nourishing skin.
This essence is relevant to me as I continuously looking for essence/serum that helps to shrink pores. Its in a gel texture , it gives a cool feeling to my skin once applied and refreshing clean scent.
Price: MYR 218 (35ml)
Oriks Wild Ginseng Stemcell Essence Twister BB Cream
The BB Cream is formulated with plant stem cells to repair and keep your skin healthy while covering imperfections. Its unique three-tier cream design includes the milk lotion with wild ginseng, the concealer and the serum with repair complex CLR.
I thought this BB cream comes in a sample sachets by looking at the box but it comes in blister packets. They are really cute as the blisters are shaped in bottle and shaded with the colors mentioned in the description. I haven’t met my ideal BB cream yet because most of them are either too fair, greyish cast, no oil control and etc. This sounds like a great BB cream but it didn’t mention of any oil controlling properties. I’m still in doubt to try this.
Price: MYR108 (35ml)
Wella SP Color Save Shampoo
The Colour Save Shampoo protects coloured hair and ensures long-lasting colour brilliance as it cleans.
Price: MYR65 (250ml)
Wella SP Color Save Mask
The Colour Save Mask serves as protection that prevents your hair colour from fading.
Price: MYR 100 (200ml)
I have not tried any of these yet they are definitely good to go for travelling. I might bring these for my next trip!
Verdict?
The variety of products isn’t too bad and great to find out about Di Palomo as their products are paraben and phthalate free. The Benefit POREfessional sample is been around very much and to be honest, I’m receiving this as my third time. This same goes to Wella products too, I think I have another three more of the same size too. The price for Vanity Trove is much more expensive than other beauty box subscriptions available in Malaysia, therefore I believe that Vanity Trove needs to be different and special in what they have to offer in their monthly box. For the February 2013 box is pretty satisfying as there isn’t any missing product, the box came in good shape and no ruined products.
Keep up the good work Vanity Trove! If you are interested to subscribe for future boxes, visit Vanity Trove Malaysia and to give them further support and keep yourself updated, don’t forget to like Vanity Trove Malaysia Facebook below!
