Urban Decay Naked 2 Pre-Launch & Hauls!

The entire rave of Urban Decay Naked 2 is madness. Just last week Sephora Malaysia have finally had a pre-launch of this palette. YIPEEEEE!

Of course, I could never hesitate especially this is an open event. Refering to their event invitation in Facebook, seems like not many would know about it but I’m really glad to find out about it! It was pre-launched at Sephora located in Starhill.

It starts at 3:00pm but I believe people started queuing at early 2:00pm-ish because I arrived at 2:30pm and there is about more than 10 people in the line. I was lucky to catch a photo with Eric Jeminez, the Global Makeup Artist of Urban Decay because he came from behind the queue. He was really friendly, amazed by the queue and kept taking photos. It was exciting to see his arrival!

Eric was there to share with us how to create different looks with different products available from Urban Decay and of course, inclusive of the Naked 2. He also explained the features of Naked 2 and I like how he explained the names of the eye shadows. The names that are selected for the eye shadows are meant to sound urban which goes along with the name of their brand.

This is my first purchase in Sephora Malaysia and if you’ve been following me, you know that I don’t splurge as much. I never had the first Naked but what Naked 2 have attracted me is the tin packaging, I tend to love them. Here is a light haul on the day itself!

These are just samples given out while I was in the queue. They are all Urban Decay of tinted moisturizer, lip junkie lip gloss and Eye Shadow Primer Potion Greed.

Of course the Naked 2 which the price wasn’t exposed until I paid them. I was given the shopping basket with Naked 2 in it and there wasn’t any price tag on it. Naked 2 is priced at MYR179.00, which I think it isn’t as expensive as I thought it would. There was rumors going on that it would be MYR200+ for it.

Just a show of the lip junkie that comes with Naked 2, it is very cute and I love the details of the lid.

This is a sample size of  Urban Decay Eye Shadow Primer Potion which was given to every purchase of Naked 2. I was excited that they gave this because I was contemplating to grab which eye shadow primer I should purchase. Since they gave out it for free, I guess I made the right choice.

I grabbed Too Faced Shadow Insurance Anti-Crease Eye Shadow Primer (that’s why I said that I made the right choice). I heard lots of great reviews about this and I finally put my hands on it  now. It is priced at MYR68.00.

Naked 2 is sitting beautifully in my drawer, too pretty that I couldn’t put myself to use it yet but of course, I will for myself and tutorials. I’m totally mesmerized by how neat Naked 2 is.

Did you go to the pre-launching or have Naked 2?

  1. Hi Traclyn,

Thanks for sharing your review on the pretty palette 🙂 I have really oily eyelids, so much so it burns when the oil gets into my eyes…

I read that the Urban Decay Eye Shadow primer is good to help oily eyelids…Since you have gotten both the Urban Decay and Too Faced ones, what is your opinion on both of the products?

I am a newbie to make up…so I am quite keen to try the Naked palette for work, but I am just wondering if Sephora still sells the original Naked palette? I am more interested in the original Naked because I read it comes with a small eye primer and brush with eyeliner end which seems better than the review for the lip gloss in Naked 2. Just a thought 🙂

    Thanks.

    xoxo,
    Jen

    • No worries, Jen and thank you for stopping by!

I have not use the UD primer yet but Too Faced is pretty good. Maybe I should try to compare both one day?
The Naked palette is still available in Sephora, only Naked 2 went out of stock for its rave. You could go for Naked palette if you are willing to splurge, browns are always so wearable to work! Primer is definitely important if you have oily eyelids and as for your concern, I would recommend getting Naked palette. Hope this is useful for you. 🙂

  2. Tracyln,I bought my naked 1 pallette on beautybay.com, it costs me around $58 AUD so it’s not too expensive in malaysia. I will come back to malaysia for good now. Enjoy reading your blog=)
